Arrived expired and rancid
I ordered this April 30th, and when I received it, it was expired April 8th. I figured because it's pickled, it would be fine. I was absolutely wrong - it smelled strongly of ammonia and chemcicals and I had to throw it out. Unfortunately I noticed this past the 30 day return policy, so I can't complain.

JFC Sushi Ginger: So so so good. You can eat this ginger right out of the jar with nothing else. Great on sushi. Also tastes great on all sorts of roasted meats especially chicken and turkey. Chop up and add to your BBQ sauce or marinates for a nice kick of flavor.

I love this stuff. I frequently make sushi at home and love adding this in. It is a bit sweeter than standard ginger if you have never tried it before, this is technically sweet pickled ginger. Personally, I love it and wish it was stocked in more stores.

Contains Chemical Sweetener Aspartame Instead Of Sugar
If you are allergic to the chemical sweetener Aspartame (also known as NutraSweet & Equal) like I am then stay away from this product. Authentic Japanese Sushi Ginger ONLY uses sugar as a sweetener..so I have no idea why this company chose to use a chemical sweetener instead. Not only does Aspartame ruin the flavor of ginger and gives it a metallic taste..but it exposes you to unwanted side effects from this chemical sweetener which you can verify by doing an online search under "aspartame dangers". Real sugar is wholesome, natural and safe when eaten in moderation..so again it is perplexing why this company chose a chemical to sweeten a product traditionally created in Japan with sugar.
