The quality gets worse every year!!
The quality on these is terrible in comparison to the turkeys from the past 2 years!! There are frayed edges along the eyes and leaves and very few beads overall. Not worth the $45 at all. I bought 1 excitedly after buying the turkeys from the past 2 years and then was immediately dissapointed when it came in the mail. I bought another 2 hoping that it was a fluke and that 1 was just defective but I think they just skipped on the quality overall over time.

Anazing craftsmanship! Im impressed
This guy is incredible! I cannot believe the amount of detail in this work of art. Not only does it have seed beads sewn throughout for accent, but it also has sequins and shimmery metallic thread sewn all over the body. The grouse itself would be incredible, but the fact that they sewed in these beautiful leaves, giving it a little nest to sit on astonishes me! Incredible work for the price point being offered. They didn’t skimp on the stuffing either and all the pillows this year are stuffed very firmly giving them some weight. There are pellets stuffed into the underside to help keep it upright. I can’t wait to see you next year‘s offerings!

Beautiful style, colors, and details, but the craftsmanship isn’t as great as previous years’ pillows. Needs to be steamed and will have to put fray check on all the edges of the leaves to secure them from fraying more with time. Keeping, but wouldn’t buy another. Pictures of details!

Great example of quality going down over 3 years
As a total, John Derian decor lover. This year's bird is just underwhelming. Don't get me wrong, the bird is beautiful but it's not the bird I was expecting in that it's just not a statement piece like it was in other years. The 2023 bird was a total knockout, the 2024 bird was great, and the 2025 pheasant is giving recession. I don't think I will be keeping this or gifting multiple of them to friends and family as I thought I was going to. I don't care if they make the bird $55, I want a good looking bird for my fall John Derian bird pillow collection. Not keeping the item. I want a quality bird pillow that is big. We all do. Thank you Target! Try again next year. John Derian said "tasteful luxury" and y'all said "budget".

Fall decor
I was very excited to see the 2025 John Derian collection at Target. I loved the turkey he had last year and was hoping to add to my collection. You really need to see the pieces in person - the pictures do not do them justice. The colors and beading are very nice and a great addition to my fall decorations.

Quality Issues! Or budget cuts?
I have noticed that over the years the John Derian stuff has gotten less detailed as the years go by. The bird this year doesn’t have half as much of the beading and detail the turkey and other feathered friends have had from past years. Yet the prices still go up. My store had 4 of these left. Two of the had beads falling off already. Seems like the stitching is not as strong and secure. What is happening to the quality at Target!?!!
