This Thin Lock rug pad combines a thin layer of felt with a rubber backing. A coarse felt upper layer is designed to grab and hold the bottom of your rug to prevent rug bunching and wrinkling. This pad can be easily trimmed with scissors for a custom fit. A rug pad is essential to keeping your rug attractive and to extend the life of your rug. Mohawk always recommends the use of a slip resistant rug pad under your rug. Rug pads should be spot cleaned with a solution of mild detergent and water or cleaned professionally. Do not machine wash.

Target: Stop Selling This Product! Terrible Offgasing Chemical Smells.
Do not buy this rug pad! I, like others, did not read the reviews before buying. This has THE WORST CHEMICAL SMELL! I got it to use with a new rug that I purchased. I left it down for a few days, but the smell did not disapate. We took the rig pad up, sprinkled baking soda, swept the rug, and mopped the floor. Despite this our actual rug (and entire ro) smells terrible - and I suspect it will for quite a while. The smell has caused both my daughter and I to have headaches and I fear I'm going to have to get rid of our new $400 rug. The rubber backing most have an oderous substance that clings to anything it touches (including hands). The product information attached to this product claims that it is safe - but I think the description fails to include all the chemicals included in the rug. I'm going to take a pause from purchasing anything from Target now. There is clearly a problem with this product, impacting people's well being - and the company is choosing to ignore the reviews by keeping this product on their shelves.

This smell is inherent to the product and is considered part of the normal process and will typically dissipate over a couple days. Last year, we received numerous complaints across all our selling channels that the odor is more than what we would normally expect. We continue to take the complaints seriously and have pursued several initiatives to determine the root cause of this stronger smell. Based on the information we received, we believe the odor was most likely contaminated dye that is added to the latex for the color. This was identified several months back by our vendor, and the dye was returned. It’s possible we have some older inventory that was not disposed of that could have been part of this isolated event. Our quality team continues the process of checking batches of inventory for the extreme odor and works to ensure these items are pulled from our shippable inventory. We test this product routinely to make sure it is safe for our customers’ home use. Our Rug Pad is also sold through our commercial group to schools and office buildings that require Green Label Plus certification from the CRI Carpet and Rug Institute. We complete annual VOC testing to maintain this certification. We can provide this certification upon request. Smells terrible
This is pad smells absolutely horrible! We gave it a couple of weeks and it did not get any better. Thought about returning it but didn't want it in my car so I decided to just throw it away. Thankfully our rug is washable so we could get the residual smell out of it. I wouldn't put this in my house again if you paid me. It is making my trash container stink!

Smells like a dead animal
I had this in a room by itself for three weeks to air out. I opened the door three weeks later and there were 20-30 house flies in that room. Not sure how they got in but the rug pad smells like a dead animal even after three weeks. Disgusting. Wish I would have read the reviews before wasting time and smelling up a room in my house. Get rid of this junk, target.

Works well, no odor in mine?!
I bought this a couple months ago. Works well under a small rug on hardwood. Grip is good, though not perfect and does add some cushioning to the rug. I needed something to help with the echo in a small office and this definitely helped along with obviously the rug itself. I was surprised to see all the reviews complaining about the odor because I did not experience that whatsoever.
