The lighting is bright but not over saturated or harmful to the eyes. It adds such a classic touch to our home without seeming too antiquey, since that is not our style at all. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Will have it located on the wall behind the bed on either side as to use for reading or just an extra low lighting in the bedroom. I love the style and the size is perfect for the location in which I am using it for.
