Q: i've read that it doesn't come apart, so how do you clean the mold/mildew from the overlapping areas?

Better than storage bins
This is so nice, we used to have the Ubbi bath toy drying bin which would get so disgusting so quickly. With this there is no stagnant water at the bottom of a bin getting all nasty. I take it out of the bathroom about once a month and wash it with dish soap and it has never even gotten to the point where it is visibly in need of cleaning. I highly recommend!
