A New Orleans native, Brenda Baker Robért, now splits her time between that city and her home by Bayou Lacombe. She holds an undergraduate degree in English and a M.Ed. in Education. Robért is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. When she isn't writing stories, she enjoys the quiet time spent behind her camera, waiting for a bird to land on just the right branch, as well as the not so quiet time spent with her young granddaughter.
Illustrator Kay Meadows is an award-winning artist and illustrator. Her preferred medium is watercolor, but she has worked in pencil, charcoal, pastel, and acrylic.
