My kids were so excited to build this robot. They are smaller than the recommended age of 9+ so they did need help making it. I had a blast helping them. The instructions were helpful and it took about 30 minutes to build. The only reason i gave it 4 stars is that it stopped working after a little while. Otherwise a fun time!!
Didnt work long enough

KiwiCo Jumping Robot is a great stem activity for your child or as a family activity. I love learning through play so these activity kits are perfect for that. Help your child build and then put the final product to use and enjoy the creation.

We got this toy and was so excited to put it together. We made sure we followed directions but the robot didn’t jump. It was a bummer cause my kid was so excited. I even took it apart and put it back together and made sure everything was correct but it still didn’t work.
This kit is awesome and so educational

My 10 year old (just shy of 11) just built this kit today. He had a bit of frustration at first but we put it up, ate some lunch had a quick break and then came back and finished the kit. He is super excited now that it is finished and can jump and has jumped into designing his own robot body as the kit comes with a white set to design your own or a pre-printed set. He did need an extra set of hands a few times and just a little moral support for his younger age (kit is for 9 years and up). The instruction booklet also has some awesome STEM facts and additional physics of jumping in the back of thr book. I will definitely purchase another kit again or even invest in the subscription.

I love the whole concept of this Steam toy by KiwiCo! Simple items put together to form this awesome robot. It was a little harder to set up than I thought it would be. About 30 minutes, and I do think even though it’s rated for ages 9+, it might be more suited for 12 and up, just because even for the help of an adult, it’s not that straight forward. I took one star off because one of the main pieces was missing or not properly cut in half, so we had to improvise and cut it ourselves. Other than that, I’d say it’s a very fun informative and smart toy! Thumbs up!

This robot toy is super cute. My son is newly 8, and this toy says ages 9 and up. My son was able to do most of it himself, but he did need a little help. I’d say the age range is spot on. We didn’t have any issues with the quality of this, and it seems great. The wood is thin and lightweight, but it hasn’t broken. It works well! The robot is fun to build!

Great little robot for kids. My sons loved the whole process. It was very easy to follow the instructions and build the robot. I like that it allows for small tweaks and customization. My sons have taken this thing apart and rebuilt without a problem.

*I received this product for free from the Hey, Bullseye™ sampling program in exchange for my honest review. My kids love, educational kids, and especially love building things, so they were super excited to do this KiwiCo Jumping Robot kit! My kids are 6 & 4 years old, so this kit was advanced for them (rated for 9+ years), so they needed assistance to complete it, which my husband was more than happy to help with. We unboxed the kit and all the pieces were accounted for. The instructions were super clear with detailed pictures. I feel confident that an older child would be able to do this independently. Overall, it probably took us about 20-30 minutes to assemble, but an independent child could probably do it in about half that time. The only criticism we had, is that once the robot is fully assembled and you turn it on, sometimes with the force of the jumping the battery pack could loosen and come out of the housing that it sits in. We wish that there was some other kind of anchoring to keep the battery pack from dislodging from the casing. Otherwise, it was a very clearly put together a kit, and very effective little jumping robot, and our kids really enjoyed it putting it together.

This kit was fun to create. My kids, ages 6 and 8, love kiwico and this box didn’t disappoint. They worked together on this activity and it took about 35 mins with minimal adult help. They love showing off their creation.

I received this product for free from the Hey, Bullseye™ sampling program in exchange for my honest review. I was excited for my 10 year old to try out this KiwiCo jumping robot crate. We’ve subscribed to them in the past but he seemed to “grow out” of the options they offered at the time. He loved building this robot and it was made from the usual good quality materials that we are used to from KiwiCo but we were more than a bit disappointed that these crates only came with one activity instead of the usual two and no comic type magazine that gives more information to read for fun. It took him about half an hour of careful building to complete and he was able to build it completely unassisted. I’d recommend this product and think it’s a great option for people who want to try out KiwiCo crates without the commitment of a subscription.

We've tried a few KiwiCo kits in the past and wanted to give the jumping robot a try. My son built this with some adult help and it was a pretty smooth process. I love the list of materials in the crate, including what you need from home (you only needed to have scissors in this case), some great educational pages about machines that jump, and then wonderfully illustrated instructions. We had a fairly simple time building the robot. There is even a page for troubleshooting if you have problems. It was a fun project but after jumping around a few times, the plastic cracked. I wish the materials were a little more sturdy to withstand playing with it a few times.

I received this product free in exchange for my honest review. My family liked to build the kit, most of the kit was wood with a few paper parts. We liked learning about robots in the included book. I like that I can pick up a fun family project at target that we can learn something together.

Completed with my 8 year old she enjoyed the process definitely needed the help though. My complaint is how to turn it on and off especially once all the parts are moving kid fingers struggle with that. She does love it though and after it got put together spent a while moving pieces and experimenting with how it moved

My son had so much fun making this! Some parts were a little difficult (like the rubber bands) and he just needed a little help making it happen or understanding but it paid off and he is super proud of himself!
