I love this knife but there is one problem

This knife caught my eye at my local supply store because I love knives and I really love Klein Tools, I love the way it looks and feels, the blade locks up tight and the handle is made from aluminum instead of plastic. In addition to this it is not a bad price for a quality knife. I like everything about this knife except for one thing, it’s blade. I’m not sure if I just got a lemon but my knife was not sharp enough out of the package to cut hvac duct strap. I really had to pull and slice very hard to make it through the strap which was quite disappointing and difficult to do while on a ladder in an attic. In addition to this the next day I found knicks on the edge of my blade which was disappointing, mainly because I had only used the knife twice. Once to cut the strap and once to open cardboard boxes ( just slicing the tape not the cardboard it self. )So the blade was either Knicked from the factory or the blade was damaged while cutting duct strap, I am not sure which is more disappointing.

I needed a knife for work and bought this one as well as the Milwaukee knife. This knife was razor sharp and much better quality. It’s a bit stiff and I stripped the screws trying to loosen them. I guess I don’t have to worry about them coming out. For the money it’s good value but I would pay more for USA made. I imagine that Klein could forge their own blades? I bought a pair of their scissors that have been great. The 440 steel is decent and should be easy to sharpen and maintain.
Ive had the thing years

I bought this as an apprentice about 5 years ago now, its been used as a chisle, a screwdriver, a hammer, wire strippers, even a door stop! Its had a hard life, its got a busted belt clip and the action isnt as smooth as it once was. But I keep that blade sharp and it'll never me down.

I purchased this knife for edc. A friend admired the knife when I was using it one day so I gave it to him. I purchased another to replace the one I had given away but was disappointed when one of the screws came loose and was lost. It now sits in a drawer. I can no longer use it safely.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this knife for about a month and it has saved me many trips to the truck for a screwdriver. This has not replaced a screwdriver but for a quick fix... it rocks.

I bought this mainly for the wire stripping feature. Comes in very handy. I have one model I bought back in the 80’s when I started learning the plumbing trade and still have it today, the blade is almost worn completely down from sharpening it. Has always been a very reliable work knife and holds an edge under normal use. Will take a pounding. Love that this knife has the drop point for getting in tight places. Fits in the hand great. A tad bit on the heavy side but, nothing to cry about. Opens with one hand easily, clip holds tight. If you have small hands, it may not be for you. For the price you can’t go wrong. An all round great work knife and if you do happen to lose it you’re not out of a bundle but it will be someone else’s treasure for sure. It’s my edc even though I have many more expensive knives.
Great knife.

I bought the knife a while back I work in the Hvac field. Its very handy to have. I do notice that it has dulled after a few months unfortunately but it is still a very heavy duty and reliable knife for the price.
