I previously was a huge woodford man, until I tried the small batch 9 year Knob Creek. The surprising smoothness of this straight bourbon was terrific and 100 proof. I am now a Knob Creek man. Plus it's moderately priced for such a good straight bourbon it's surprising!! Wished I had a couple half gallon of these for my sons wedding Saturday!! A lot of people would understand why I love it so much!!

If you’re looking for a good whiskey for a decent value then look no further. It has a full bodied vanilla, caramel taste with a brown sugar/oak scent. This is a great old fashioned whiskey and even a sipping whiskey.

Why is it different then Wisconsin for making a old fashion In Wisconsin they make an old fashion with brandy or whiskey, mixed with sweet or sour club sodas with bitters and a cherry on top. Why is it that Texas makes it with bourbon

I vastly appreciate the complexity of flavor presented by the Knob Creek 9 year. It starts with a "Jim Beam" nose and front-of-tongue flavor but separates itself with nutty undertones, pulled together with a caramel aftertaste. This is a great bourbon for people looking to expand their palate. I would put this up against the craft line of 99% of bourbon companies.

I used to savor the smell of the cork whenever I opened the bottle. Vanilla. Divine. The flavor and feel as I sipped was an experience. So smooth. Classic. Lovely on its own, nothing added. Then the cork became plastic. Still tasted good, but…not quite the same. Just opened a 1.75L and was basically horrified about the screw top. Zero vanilla smell. And the taste? Oh my. Metallic? NOT the same bourbon. At all. Not sippable. Stuck with a 1.75L bottle that I wouldn't dare give away. Jim would never approve. Knob Creek sucks now. Heartbreaking.
