Description

About the Book

Touching heaven on the body of the beloved. Recognizing the celestial constellations that have guided the history of humanity on the skin of the beloved, tracing the same paths of stars with fingers trembling with love. From the personification of ancient myths and mysteries in the figures symbolizing the celestial constellations, to the remembrance of the form of love for the soul in the body of another, expressed by the great Greek artists of antiquity, The Skin of the Sky explores the keys to the adoration of the divine reflected in the body of the beloved. This splendid collection of poems by Magdalena Lasala revives the symbolism of Greek classical art by equating the celestial constellations with the paths of matter (the earth and the skin), building on the beauty of the beloved a play of images and mythical meanings that evoke sensations of transcendence stored in the unconscious. Poetry is a necessary medium for constructing sculptures of words inspired by the love instilled by the divine and the grandeur intuited in the other, just as in the sculptures of ancient classicism, some Greek artists reflected the materiality of the emotion produced by what was captured in the beauty of the other.
