Description
About the Book
Does inclusive language serve any purpose? Does speaking many languages really mean any kind of advantage? Does each family speak differently? Is it true that today we write worse than ever before? Will the arrival of artificial intelligence change the way we communicate? In The Traps of Language an Other Linguistic Enigmas, the author invites us to explore the multiple dimensions of language, unraveling myths, questioning norms and proposing new perspectives on a phenomenon that defines us as a species. This book takes us from the most current controversies, such as inclusive language and the coexistence of multiple languages, to profound reflections on how language shapes our identity, influences our social relationships and becomes a driving force for educational and cultural change. With an entertaining and rigorous style, the author combines the linguist's perspective with that of the popularizer, addressing topics as varied as artificial intelligence, language policy, cultural diversity and the ethical challenges of language in a world in constant transformation.About the Author
