Q: Can this be ceiling mounted using the supplied base?

  • A: Provided the tilt angle works for what you need, the issue would be with how you mount it to the ceiling. Mounting on a wall will produce a moment on the screws into the wall (i.e. pull on them at an angle: the head of the screw is pulled down, angling the tip of the screw up into the stud the screw is in which will help support the fan), but if you mount it to a ceiling, the full weight of the fan will pull the screws straight down from the ceiling. Having once worked for a company that often received similar questions for their products, I would expect that the manufacturer of the fan won't answer this one, even if you call. You should ask at your local hardware/diy store, who can offer advice on whether this would be possible.

  • A: Using an app on my phone, the fan’s lowest setting measured 58db, medium setting measured 60db, and highest setting measured 62db. Although that isn’t inordinately loud to me, it isn’t “whisper quiet” as the manufacturer represents on its website, either.

    I don't like the sound of this fan. It's not like other fans with a mid frequency which helps to sleep, it's more of an annoying buzzing sound with a higher frequency. The fan is made with lightweight parts, therefore it doesn't blow around as much air as you would expect for its size.

    Not like it used to be

    This is not the same fan from just 1 year ago. I bought a new one because the one I had is great, however when I opened the box it looked like it was return. Fine, I plugged it in and it produces significantly less power than my 'old' version of the fan. I ended up purchasing a 2nd one because maybe this was a return and they returned it becuase it was not very good. The 2nd one looked and worked the exact same (very poorly). Ended up returning both. Don't waste your money.

    Bought this fan on June 18th of 2024, it lasted just shy of 2 years. Typically Lasko fans last 3-10 years, based of Google results. Bought another Lasko fan today, hopefully it'll last us at least the three years. 😩🤞

    Do NOT buy

    The fan seems good at first and is relatively easy to clean. I've had it for less than a year, and it's started to overheat terribly, so much so that it became a legitimate fire hazard. It became so hot that the metal prong holding the fan blades melted the fan blades. I would've tried to fix and work with it, but it's entirely unusable, and completely unsafe. Save the money and just get a simple box fan.

    Lasko fan

    I purchased this same fan about a month ago. It's quiet and the air that circulates is very strong and comfortable. My only problem/concern is that this one is making a high pitched squeal. Im nervous that it may stop working...... I didn't purchase a warranty .. Otherwise, the air flow is the same as the first one.
