A torture device for ppl diagoned with Austim or ADHD!
The fact that I just now created a Target account SOLELY to write about how bad this fan is should tell you how terrible the NOISE is!!! As soon as I attached the base of this fan (which is also not as intuitive as it seems), I turned it on, and the whistle was so LOUD that I literally almost had an anxiety attack, no exaggeration in the slightest!!! I'm diagnosed with ADHD & autism, and I needed a new fan to help me sleep. Zero chance that's happening. Will be returning this to Target as soon as the store re-opens tomorrow, and never will I ever buy a product with "Holmes" on it!!

Definitely not quiet!
It says on the box "quiet operation" but it makes a high pitched whistling noise when running, which just gets louder when turning it up to a higher setting. That's what I get for buying a cheap fan I guess.

Fluctuates in speed and rattles. Buy a different fan!
This fan sounds like it has an electrical issue. The fan fluctuates in speed without changing the setting. It gets quiet and sounds like its going to stop then kicks back up again. This cycle is continuous no matter which setting I have it on. I thought it was an electrical issue in the room it was being used in, so I out it in storage to "figure out later". I did not return it in time for a refund. Buy a different fan!
