Loved this set
The love birds were really fun to build. Easy to build and no trouble with pieces or instructions. I would like to see more bird builds like nesting or with a bird house. Maybe a mom with babies.

Target
it's not the item I'm rating, it's Target for not trying to find at a different location in the area before canceling the order!

Great-looking model but a bit challenging to assemble
The good: no pieces were missing, the finished model looks great, and I managed to get through the assembly OK. Speaking as an experienced LEGO builder, this kit was somewhat tricky to put together. There was a part of the tree that attaches with a set of three hinges that required some care. Otherwise the tree wasn't too hard. As is usual with the botanical kits, the tree boughs (leaves & blossoms) were tedious. To make it less boring I built multiple subassemblies in parallel: if 3X is called for, perform the first substep on subassembly 1, 2, and 3 in turn, then do likely for each subsequent substep. I end up with 3 subassemblies. Then, attaching a bough to the tree required some care. Preventing a bough from coming apart was a matter of finding a safe place on the bough to which to apply pressure. As for the bird's heads, the ball & socket connection requires firm pressure. There should be a noticable clicking sound when the connection is made. Once the connection is made, it seems to be very solid. Finally, installing each bird into the tree was a matter of arranging the branches to make clearance, then positioning the vertical brown stem that sticks out of the bottom of the bird so it can be pushed down into one of the two available holes. It looks like there are four holes, but only the rear hole is deep enough to allow for the stem to be completely inserted. Once this is done, the bird feels solidly attached. After the kit is complete, I'd say that it holds together well except you'll want to be careful about the little pieces that make up the tree boughs because it's not hard to knock them loose. A word on missing parts. In kits like this one, there can be subtle color differences in the parts plus the color in the book might not match the actual part color very well. This means it's all too possible to choose the wrong color part for one step, then several steps later that color is actually called for but you can't find it because you've already used it. This makes it seem as though you are missing a part of a certain color but you have an extra of a similar part of a different color. When this happens, it's not always easy to fix. Sometimes the wrong color part was chosen many steps ago so now it's buried out of view. In conclusion, I'd recommend this kit for the experienced adult LEGO builder. Maybe that's why the box rates it for ages 18+. A talented younger person might do very well with it, too, but in that case I'd suggest that an experienced adult be on hand to lend a hand or give advice.

Very Cute Build, Plan to Make Some Adjustments
I really like this set. I only have one complaint, there is no base. All the other trees by Lego come with bases that make them stable. This one, Nope. It looks like it is growing out of your shelf. This also made the tree unstable. I did find a solution. I also felt the branch was too long, so adjusted it closer to the birds for less dead space. This is what makes Lego builds so great! Find something you don’t like and you just tweak it! Overall, AMAZING!🤩 💕

Love Is In the Air
First off, this set is absolutely adorable. I love the way the leaf elements frame the birds themselves, and both of their colors pop off of the brown of our tree. That being said, sets like this are bound to have a fair amount of repetition, and I did not have a blast affixing flowers to leaves to stems to branches to trunks over and over again. The tree itself, on the other hand, was an excellent building experience, with studs going in all directions. My complaints can hardly take away from its display value, however, and it's hard to resist standing back and admiring the build as a whole.
