Bought it for my sons birthday a couple of years ago! He was 8 if I remember correctly! He was asking for it for a while and so I suprised him with it for his birthday! It's still one of his absolute favourite Lego's. We love that it's blue also! Such a cool toy even though we never watched ninjago before lol he still loves to take it out and play with it years later

Amazing colours for both the minifigures and the dragon itself. The fact that this set comes with the amazing NRG Nya makes it even more worth it. Dragon is pretty long.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a fun Lego to put together. It was overall easy to assemble. My children were able to do it on there own without help. It's sturdy once together. It's a cool looking dragon once it's complete.

My son spent the whole day building it, and being ADHD he found they did not lose concentration and wanted me to go and get another. He loved building this Lego out of all his Legos

So, the dragon here... it's pretty much perfect. The colours are lovely, the movement of the wings is gorgeous and really feels like an aquatic animal, the tail is a bit long for its own good but still feels majestic, the posing of the limbs leaves something to be desired but I can't be too mad when it's this pretty. Minifigures are also worthwhile, Nya is very special, and so is Kalmaar, Zane and the Maaray guards a bit less so but still worthy inclusions. Also, Zane's sub is a very fun little build, just good for puttering around the ocean floor and such. If you don't have this set already and you have the budget for it, please get it for yourself, you will not be disappointed.

The water dragon is very posable. Tail is very flexible and will swing side to side if pushed. A tad bit pricey compared to the size but average considering the peice count. All around its a good dragon. Easy to build.
Worth it!

I am a fan of Dragons and have collected a few Lego dragons over the years. The only reason I have a few Ninjago sets is specifically for the dragons. I do not follow the characters or storyline at all. I saw the face on this guy and the Ninjago jungle dragon (set 71746) and fell in love with both of them. I ordered both at the same time and put the jungle dragon together first. When I put the water dragon together, the contrasts between them were great. Cons: Poseability-wise, first, the limbs of the water dragon were not as poseable because the blocky-ness of the legs and body meant they kept running into each other. The neck is mostly poseable, but still blocky. And the black claws would disappear every now and then, lost on the floor somewhere. I didn't notice it at first, but I finally figured out that the black claws cannot be posed to extreme either, as shown in the photos on the box. What happens is that when you rotate the claws, part of the joints are too big to slide between the gaps, so you're creating pressure instead, causing the joints to pop out of the clips and taking all the claws with them. The tail waves loosely horizontally. It does not move vertically at all. I feel because of the way it's attached, and the fact that crocodiles wave their tails side to side to swim, this is forgivable. Design-wise, the blocky legs do not lend them to being water-appropriate, as in, water creatures are sleek so as not to produce drag in water. These legs do not look designed for swimming in water at all. I wasn't impressed. Stickers. Other notes: The body is long but stiff. The length of the body (not including the neck and tail) is long and appropriate for a water creature. It is stiff for a few reasons: 1. It houses the mechanism to make the wings flap 2. It becomes a handle to hold onto so you can activate the wings 3. The entire body is so long that you need a handle in order to hold onto it with one hand Pros: The water dragon is a full two feet long! I was in disbelief when I read the back of the box where it showed the dimensions of the dragon. The colors are great. The brick detail, such as added fins, clear bricks, and watery swirl attachments, were appropriate additions. The face shape and design are great. The flapping wings are like that of the motion of a stingray. Very appropriate for underwater locomotion. The accessories and minifigures round out the set. NRG Nya is such a wonderfully detailed minifigure with watery swirls, a watery base, and hand shooters. The plastic is translucent with a shimmery glitter inside. Summary: The water dragon is fine if you don't mind the cons, but I recommend the jungle dragon if you have to choose between the two.

The Lego box product when delivered, not the exterior box but the Lego box itself was opened had been taped shut but re-opened and I didn’t know if pieces were missing or not so I returned it. This was same issue with another product. I begin to think I’m getting returned products.

Decent Dragon

Overall, the Water Dragon is a fun set. The minifigure selection is good and the setpieces are nice, but the main draw is the dragon itself. It’s a little on the slender size, but its length compensates for is skinniness. The main detractor for me is the floppy tail, as it’s hard to get it in a good position without something to brace it against. Overall it is a fine set for play, but if you want a dragon that’s easier to display, I’d pick up Lloyd’s Legendary Dragon. The Water Dragon is a fine set, good for play and with a fine array of smaller builds. Makes for a decent add to your collection and is a good inclusion if you’re a dragon enthusiast.

The build was confusing but fun. It was bigger than I thought it would be but a tinier tail. I look forward to using parts from this build for new original builds.

Beautiful set with some very nice mini figs. The set is a bit delicate which can make it a bit difficult to play with. While easy enough to fix it does hamper play.
A properly inundated basilisk

This singular cerulean basilisk was entirely too extensive in its own overall length. However, I approximated that the lengthiness was largely a dereliction on the part of animators governing the serial on the television machine. My assistant built it for me and upon delivery of it I chastised him profusely for his shoddy craftmanship and set to it myself. I appreciated the miniature plastic figurines especially that female Ninja they call Nya and the detail put into the printing upon her, however much discrepancy there may have been betwixt this and the girl on the television machine. I must denounce the nature to which King Kalmaar was stamped it was a total abomination and did not at all adequately hold a proverbial candle to the one in the serial. I hold my nose thusly.
