Poorly designed gearbox
The overall build was fun. It was challenging in certain steps due to the way the pieces had to fold and the way they were presented in the instruction manual. However, the gearbox is a terrible design. I did a google search on it and saw that several people had different issues with the gearbox and no 2 people seems to have the same issue. In my mind, that is just poor quality control. For my build, the holes in the beams that the axels went through were so tight, they ended up being press fit which prevented the entire gearbox from spinning. At first I thought I had put it together wrong so I took it all back apart and test each hole in each beam separately with only a single axel. The holes were just too tight. I ended up having to use a drill and bit of the same size as the axels to drill out the holes so the axels would slip in and freely spin like they were meant to. after that, everything worked just fine.

Thank you for leaving a review, it's never fun when things don't work as they should! From what you’ve described, a little rebuilding might be in order. You’ll want to make sure that each part is in the exact position shown in the instructions and that everything’s pressed together tightly (except the gears, which need some extra room to turn). You should have much better results! We're always available at LEGO.build/Service-BV if you'd like any assistance!

Looks good
The finished model looks pretty good, but building it was kind of fiddly. Many stickers to adhere that took away a bit of the momentum. I liked building the Ducati much better.

Love it
This lego was awesome, and as a motorcycle stunt rider, i can really appreciate the attention to detail with this bike, and the m1000rr is my ultimate dream bike, i have a 2003 kawasaki 636 and a 2016 s1000rr irl right now, but neither compare to this bike even remotely. This is probably as close as I will come to owning this bike for bow, but I cannot wait to have this lego next to the real thing in a few years!

Loved the finished piece but at times it was fiddly. Having large hands trying to position some of the parts was difficult. I got there in the end. It look great next to the MT10 and the H2.

Magic build
I have mostly built cars one small bike. This takes the cake. I wish Lego would make more in-depth kits like this. I was sad when I was finished because I enjoyed it so much.

HORRIBLE SHIPPING: BOX & SURPRISE RUINED
Target does not ship this in a box. This Lego set will be left at your doorstep for all to see. This was supposed to be a Christmas gift for my husband, but he was the one who came home first and found it on the porch. Anyone walking by can see what it is and steal it. DO NOT BUY FROM TARGET IF YOU WANT THIS GIFT TO BE A SURPRISE. Many people collect the Legos and value the integrity of the box has been compromised by a big mailing label sticker. I expect more careful shipping with a $200 set. Boo Target!

First major lego buy and build, LOVED IT!
This was a challenge at first when I started to build it because I didn’t have too much Lego building experience. Now that I do. I love the BMW motorcycle. It is so realistic just like the real thing, it moves, the steering wheel turns and everything is so awesome. I love Legos. I will always love Legos. This was just an incredible and amazing build.

Poor illustrations and missing pieces
The building illustrations were inadequate for a project as complex as this. Ambiguous instructions and many missing pieces spoiled the building experience and rendered the project incomplete A potential beautiful piece for ruined by in-Lego like flaws

We understand that there's nothing fun about having missing pieces and we're sorry for the experience. If you haven't already, please reach out at LEGO.build/Service-BV and we'll do our best to help.

Horrible to move/play with
I do enjoy how the set looks like when it's set on a shelf, but any attempt to move it (or god forbid, play with it) leads to some parts falling off. The most outrageous part is the chain which pops out if you look at it the wrong way. Once it's disconnected is nearly impossible to fix it without taking apart quite a big part of the set. I had the set for 2 weeks now and I already gave up on it and took out the chain completely

Glad to hear you're enjoying your BMW M 1000 RR when it's displayed on your shelf! We appreciate you letting us know you're having trouble with the chain coming off when you move it. If you give us a call or chat at LEGO.build/Service-BV we would be happy to help troubleshoot the pieces falling off.

But motorcycle
It displays nice I’m happy I bought the other 2 bikes first. This build to be a little difficult because it’s fragile when trying to add pieces. The transmission is nice but the other 2 bikes are better.Over it’s nice to finish the collection between the amount of decals and how fragile it was during assembly I would recommend the other 2 bikes before this one

loved It
This was my first jump into Technic as I’ve limited my self to LEGO Star Wars set (lots) I ride motorcycles so was invested in the build. In places it was not clear where certain items connected and I think some instructions could be a lot clearer. The Ducati V4S will be my next purchase (after the upcoming Star Wars UCS release)

Detailed
Love the detail of the engine, the size. Not the most pieces but one of the biggest to scale technic sets I’ve done. Highly recommend!
