We love legos but this...How cool!
We saw a display of this built and as a TOY loving guru I knew I needed this! It was a wonderful build to build with my son on a rainy Saturday and hope to get more interactive legos!

Out of this world
Bought this to show granddaughter about motion of earth, moon around our star. Really enjoyed the build and it all works very well. Very educational and fun.

Really enjoyed this one....
My second Technics and a much different experience to the first one. Firstly, it works - ignore what anyone else says, if you follow the instructions everything rotates. Secondly, it's very stable - admittedly i was a little uncomfortable as I connected the earth section, but the extra struts afterwards keep it solid. The instructions aren't always the best because they don't show from multiple angles which can be needed in odd cases when connecting sections. I admit that I put one section on upside down and it was only 10 pages later that I realised something was wrong, luckily i didn't need to undo too much. The size of the bags was better than Mars Rover, so was able to much more easily find the pieces I needed. My only gripe is that the sun and earth do look a little 'tacky'; but i was half expecting that from feedback i'd seen before purchasing. Other than that I think it looks good. Didn't take me too long to build, built across and afternoon and the following morning - i don't time things but i'd be surprised if it were more than 3 hours (4 max).

Easy to get wrong, tough to troubleshoot.
Lots of opportunity when building this to make a mistake and press on, not unusual with Lego to have to correct as I go, but this came apart and went back together more times than any set I have made. The sun and earth are of disappointing quality. The idea is ace…. Be cool if it expanded into a solar system with an add on. This feels like a rushed idea, which is sad given the high level of engineering inside. There is not much play here, turn the handle and it moves…… Possible my least favourite and most disappointing set

Thank you for your feedback on this set. We're really sorry to hear how disappointing the build has been. That’s definitely not the experience we want you to have. We’ll share your comments with our design teams to help with future sets.

Awesome product, but...
Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome product. Building technics, the design and educationnal purpose is realy good. However, the labels for the moon phase are designed for southern hemisphere only. No mention about it in the instruction nor other labels for northern hemisphere customer. Not possible to invert them somehow. Moreover, the model lack of stability. But overall, I recommend it, but be aware of these 2 major points. Thanks

Amazing Set for a Little Space Enthusiast
Got this set for my 5 year old, she really enjoyed how the whole thing came together and the gear work in it. She was really happy to learn more about the solar system, had a long discussion about it after building the set.

Ticks all the boxes as the best of Technic
This set has much to offer. It does its job well in showing the timing of movements of the Earth, Sun and Moon. It celebrates gears and mechanisms that are too often hidden behind panels in other sets. It is full of functionality and movement where some other sets are just for static display. It has interesting pieces, especially the spheres and circular beams, so good that I bought 4 sets. More Technic sets like this please! Just for fun, with a second set I converted it to the Tatooine system of twin suns and 3 moons; the planet could do to be tan-coloured but it's all about using the pieces you have.

Great product needs more design
He enjoyed the gearing and visual of the build. He did wish they had added more planets to the design. He like that it displayed the month and moon phase that was current to today's day and you could change it. He liked the earth was tilted on an angle to make it factual. The turntable below earth and the moon was cleaver.

Time is on your side
My kids love this set. My oldest figured to spin the sun to speed through the years. Honestly, I prefer reeling in the years. Just another joy with extreme replay value.

Incomplete instructions
The instructions booklet for this is missing steps and pieces necessary for it to work completely. I took it apart twice to find fixes for issues with the gears, and still can't make it work properly. Know that if you follow the assembly instructions exactly, you will not have a working final product. Use the spare pieces and a few extras laying around, and you might get it working properly.

It's a fun build
It's a fun build. I would like it if there was a way to show I labeled and did everything correctly. How do I know the earth and moon phases are correct? I also very much dislike having to apply stickers.

Amazing set!
I've had this set on my wishlist for a while now. Every time I see it in stores I just WANT it so badly!!! Finally made the purchase, and I'm so happy! Watching it come together was such a joy...sure, it was a bit tricky (a few times I had to triple check a step) but it looks so cool! Definitely in my top 10 favorite sets!

Amazing!
5 different rotations all being controlled by one crank. It's incredibly accurate! My only beef and it's very subtle... the phases of the moon are depicted from the southern hemisphere and without using scissors on the stickers, there isn't much you can do. I think Lego should offer a northern hemisphere sticker set.

Very well thought out
I got this set had fun building it and after it was all built I counted the rotations of earth and lunar cycles and they were both spot on with the real numbers. With the total earth rotations being at 365 and the the total lunar cycles being 12.
