I have been using a large stainless steel milk pail (from Lehman's years ago) as a "slops bucket". It would begin to give off a foul odor in a few days. It also took up a lot of room. I ordered the composter out much hope for it except it had a lid and took up a lot less room. To my delight, it really works! I only have to empty it when it gets full and with the lid in place. . . no odor! Also. . . no flies.

My daughter has had one of your compost pail for several years and I have admired it, so I finally ordered one for myself. Evidently I was not very observant, and did not notice that the design has been changed. The sides on hers are smooth, both inside and out, making it much easier to clean the inside of the pail. Also the inside finish is much smoother. This one has a roughness, like it needed a final polishing. Perhaps it is my imagination, but the metal of the bucket seems thinner. I am sure it will perform as well, but why did you have to change. I am really really disappointed.

This compost pail needs a small handle added near the bottom edge to facilitate emptying, otherwise it's great!

The compost pail is wonderful. It resists odors, is the right size the comfortable fit on the kitchen counter, and it hold a gallon of vegetable waste. I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase.
