Book Synopsis
Libby Woo is a young free spirit who just loves to run outside in her bare feet, feeling the cool grass on her toes. But when she gets a splinter in her foot and is told she should start wearing shoes, Libby Woo fears her big feet will get in her way. Self-conscious about her larger-sized feet, Libby is surprised when someone gives her a compliment about her eyes and she realizes she has been spending so much time hating her feet that she forgot there are so many other parts of her to love. Inspired by her six-year-old American-Chinese granddaughter, Barbara Cicerchi's tale also includes Chinese words and characters that would be most interesting to preschoolers.
About the Author
My vast experience with preschoolers began with raising my own six children. I eventually opened a preschool which weighed heavily on art and books. I went on to become a professor of early childhood education. I taught college students about the impact that books have on early language development, and children"s love of reading.
