I had this set for less than a year before it started rusting. By 3.5 years it would have been considered unsafe for children.

We're sorry to hear about your playset. The steel used to build our playsets are made with a weather resistant powder-coated finish that protects from cracking, warping, rot or splinters. It is made to be rust-resistant. However, we recommend using a rust treatment for extra protection a couple times a year, especially if you live in a high humidity climate. That being said, we'd love to look into this situation further. Please reach out to us with your product and contact information at reviews@lifetime.com.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not good quality for an expensive outdoor playground. WHY NOT USE MATERIAL THAT DOESN'T RUST. I'm very disappointed.

Foster home fun - 1 year ago

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this Playset over 10 years ago and as foster parents we have had countless amounts of foster children who've enjoyed playing on it. We still have children mention this playground when we run into them out in our community. As a retired police officer and mother I enjoy bringing smiles to the children who came to us with no smiles when they arrived. The only downfall is I wished we could extend this set to add more to it but I haven't seen that as a possibility yet. We were thinking how nice it would be to be able to add the monkey bars and possibly two extra swings. We even thought about a Ninja warrior course because more than probably 100 times our children have us time them as the rush through ever single part of the tower and it's options. It is a super fun experience that we can have in our backyard 😀 thank you Lifetime and if you ever open up the idea to allow owners the options to do add-ons please let us know. Many foster children would enjoy such things. Thank you.

Wanted something for my grandchildren to grow with. We have a smaller swingset that my 3 year old grandson was getting too big for. Researched many swingsets, the sturdiness and $300 off helped to make my decision. So far, very happy with the purchase and it looks great in my yard.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finished building this set this morning. Great quality, excellent packaging and instructions! Husband and I, both in our 70s, put it together. It took us quite some time, but between our ages and Texas summertime heat, we took it slowly. Very pleased with the quality from start to finish.

Quality is very high. I was able to build it myself in a few days. I had no one to help. Instructions are super clear. If you are not mechanically inclined, you will need to hire someone for assembly. Skill level “Moderate”. It is much bigger than it looks on line. I weigh 250lbs. The swings hold me just fine. This is a lot of set for your money. Be advised, there is a lot of assembly required!!! Follow the instructions!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The lifetime playset that we received took us a bit due to unforseen weather conditions but once the weather finally cleared up we got it done fairly quickly together. The instructions were very straight forward and labeled the internal packaging well in each box. Be sure to have the extra tools it recommends since they are crucial to completing assembly. Some of my favorite features are the monkey bars and also the amazing detail in the plastic work for the top tower floor. My kids had a blast playing with their cars on the roads and mini town etched in. By far my favorite feature is the anchoring for the tower. This gave me such peace of mind, I don't think a tornado would take this set from the ground without a lot of efffort. The size of our playset is perfect for our yard with plenty of room around it for safety. My kids love their new playset and it is now a chore just to get them off of it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The assembly went very well. I put together by myself over a period of 3 days about 2 hours each day. The assembly was so well written that my kids 14 and 10 were capable of reading them and helping me put together items without my help. This was also done mostly in the dark, as it was winter, with headlamps. I did run into some confusion with the end pieces that cover the holes. The instructions had the part label written on them while the bag had a different label written on it. And in the instructions you're looking for a series of letters that don't exist on the part. You have to pay very close attention to the bag letters which was very confusing. That cost me about 30 minutes of digging to realize what happened. Other than that I appreciate the extra screws because things get lost in the grass. And everything went together very smoothly. I was able to do it with one adult and two kids. The quality of the materials is truly top notch, solid and heavy duty. We've had big kids and teens even swing on it without budging or feeling anxious about the structural integrity. With 8 kids (ages 1-14 have used this so far!) we've had a decent amount of experience with various playsets and backyard toys. The best thing about this set is just the great variety of ages, skills, and interest that it can work with. The little ones love the lower level "play house" while the older kids love the second story. The sensory seekers and parkour star hopefuls love the swings, monkey bars and especially the trapeze bar has been a big hit. The grey and green color scheme is calming compared to the visually jarring primary color scheme used by a lot of companies, and I appreciate that. It is definitely necessary to make sure that you have an adequate flat area with enough clearance (especially if you have fence line landscaping) for the slide and swings. For this reason, It's a great feature that the panels and rock wall/slide/ladder can be changed between sides. Overall, this play is a wonderful investment for a lifetime of imagination and play for kids of nearly all ages. I could not recommend it more to families who are interested in top quality, heavy duty, play equipment.
Like a mini playground in our backyard!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, let me start by saying this playset has everything my kids love! The slide, rock climbing walls, swings, a huge tower with a play road/street on the floor. It is definitely a playset they will be able to grow into and use for many years. They're still a little too small for the monkey bars, but I'm positive this playset will still be in great shape when they're ready to try them! And though they love the swings, I like that the clips make it so we can switch them out for a baby swing or a nest swing later if we'd like. It's definitely comparable to a small park playground, but conveniently in our backyard! Assembly wasn't always easy, but it is very doable. The paper instructions are clear, but I recommend watching the YouTube assembly video simultaneously because it really does help. There were some steps that we struggled with, and after watching the guy in the video, we realized how we could get those steps done more easily. It's definitely a two person job, but my husband and I were able to get it done, and I'm not exactly tall or impressively strong. But we got it done over 3 days, maybe 16 hours total, with many breaks. It is worth mentioning that though the box comes with 2 allen wrenches, there's several tools that you need to have, so make sure to check that you have those or borrow from someone, because you need them for multiple parts of the assembly. The instructions do a good job of listing all of them at the very beginning. Overall though, this is an awesome playset, and it was worth the time it took to put it together!

My kids are loving their new Lifetime Adventure Tower Deluxe Playset! It has all their favorite features from our local park, and it's now in our backyard! Rockwall, swings, slide, "secret base" thats two stories! They even have a little street on thr top floor to play cars on. Assembly was a little intimidating, but me and my husband did it over a two day span, with basic tools and no experience. They have a youtube video where you can watch someone build it step by step which helped a ton. My kids are very happy with it and it has enough different features to keep them occupied.
Absolutely Perfect family Playset

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Lifetime Adventure Tower Deluxe is absolutely amazing!!! We received all of the boxes and parts within only a few days. Everything was nicely boxed and very easy to understand. There were paper instructions along with all of the digital resources such as videos and instruction booklets as well. With all of the combined resources the most novice of builders would be able to construct this play set. As for the building process, it took a couple hours in the evening for two days and then the majority of the third day to fully finish the build. For a novice such as myself this could have been done in one day if we worked from sun up to sun down. I would say there isn’t anything difficult at all, but it is just a process to get everything done correctly. It definitely does require two people. Again, the work is not hard at all, but there are a lot of steps. Now that it is built i can say that the tower with the slide is my most favorite part of the play set. It is about 80% of the build, but is so versatile for the kids. I have 4 kids from age 7 to 2 and each of them love it. They love the captains wheel, the rock climbing wall, the windows below to play restaurant and store, and of course the the slide. This is where the time is spent for the most part and this is where their imagination can flourish. Lastly, the colors match the landscape perfectly and the material is such quality that it will withstand with desert weather here in Arizona for many years. This is such an exceptional product that I truly and honestly will recommend Lifetime for all of my family and friends playground needs. Thank you Lifetime for being so meticulous in your design and making the Adventure Tower Deluxe the perfect safe playground for my family.
Rust

We purchased this play set when we bought our house. After reading the product description of Lifetime products lasting 10 years, I thought this would be a perfect addition to our backyard play space until our kids outgrew it. We followed the assembly instructions and even added a rust preventative just to ensure it would last and be safe for the kids. It has rusted so much that it has become a safety hazard and we are going to disassemble it and bring it to the dump. It is a shame, because our kids were so excited about it.

The steel used to build our playsets are made with a weather resistant powder-coated finish that protects from cracking, warping, rot or splinters. It is made to be rust-resistant. However, we recommend using a rust treatment for extra protection a couple times a year, especially if you live in a high humidity climate. We do have replacement parts and touch up paint available through our customer service department. They can be reached at 800-225-3865 or by email at customercare@lifetime.com.

Disappointed customer - 2 years ago

We are extremely disappointed that our playlet is already rusting. Water seeps in between the areas where metal is attached to metal and is impossible to dry out. This is after we covered all metal pieces with rust prevention spray during assembly. We chose this playset because it was supposed to be less maintenance than wood but that was a huge mistake. Of course the Lifetime website does not allow you to add photos or else I could show you the numerous spots and joints this thing is already rusting. I can only hope someone from Lifetime will reach out ASAP and try to make this right.

Looking at your photos, some of that is just dirty water draining out from the powder coating process. If you take some warm water and dish soap, it should wipe right off. However, that DXO does look like it cracked. We would be happy to send you a replacement. Reach out to us at 800-225-3865 or by email at customercare@lifetime.com.
