Little Seeds Trellis Storage Cubby Bookcase

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have really enjoyed this little bookshelf and toy storage. It was very easy to put together in about 20 minutes. It fits all of our daughter's books in the top and some of her most use toys in the bottom. It is also so adorable! We received it to review as part of the Stellar Product Testing panel, but I absolutely would have purchased it on my own. It is very sturdy and fits into our decor beautifully! My only complaint is that I wish it came with something to cover up the screw holes on the side.

For those of you who don't want to read a big review: I am very impressed by this little storage/bookcase combo from Little Seeds, and I think it's a wonderful addition to any toddler's bedroom or playroom. It's the perfect size for a young child. The only negative thing about putting this bookcase together was having to do it with a toddler underfoot, closely supervising the entire process and trying to make it as hard as possible, lol. Besides that added layer of difficulty, this has got to be the easiest furniture item I've ever put together. I didn't closely look at the dimensions beforehand, so I was a little surprised by the smaller size, but honestly, I prefer it. It's the perfect size for my daughter, who all too often rips books out of our adult-sized bookshelf while looking for her favorite one. I love the idea of her having her own bookshelf that I can rotate every week! I can definitely speak to the durability of this. Upon realizing I was putting together some shiny new item, my daughter.. being the 2 year old she is.. immediately decided to test its structural integrity by attempting to climb it the moment my back was turned. It did not tip over or crack, and it was only half put together! All in all, it took me about 20 minutes to put together. If I had been alone with no child slowing things down and had an electric screwdriver, I could have done it in about 5 minutes. It only needed about six pegs and maybe a dozen screws. Some of the wooden pegs weren't as tight as I would have liked, so I added a little glue just for peace of mind since I know this is small enough that I'm never going to need to disassemble it. I'm impressed with the way they designed the shelf. It's supported partially by a very clever method of joining two pieces of wood together without screws by wedging them together. I've never seen that method used before to support a shelf, so you don't have to worry about heavier items causing it to sag. It's also not tall enough that you have to worry about it tipping over and hurting your child if they try to climb on it. Considering my daughter is taller than it, and the base is about twice as deep as the top, I don't see it tipping over easily. I love how simple and elegant the design is. You can leave it pure white for an easy-to-clean finish, or let your child express their creativity with stickers, drawings, or paint. You could even paint it yourself to match your child's room. Personally, I really like the clean white look. The little window-shaped cutouts make it look like a dollhouse or a castle. I'm actually considering putting chalkboard paint on the roof and sides so my daughter can draw on it. I can also see myself having fun buying dollhouse furniture for this. It's small enough that you can clear the shelf in a few seconds and let your child pretend it's a little house for their dolls. During the building process, my daughter already managed to put a scuff on it while holding a screwdriver, which I was able to remove with one swipe of a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Considering that it's built using methods very similar to affordable assemble yourself furniture, with screws and pegs, the end result doesn't look cheap at all. I actually think it looks really nice and modern. I've never had an actual toy box for my kids because I've heard horror stories about kids getting trapped or hurting their fingers. I really like the idea that my daughter has her own space for books and toys without having to worry about opening and closing a toy box. For my kids, who are neurodivergent, if they can't see something, it's like it doesn't exist. They won't go searching for it. Because of that, we always utilize open shelving and keep things visible through toy and book rotation. It's cut down on clutter, and they always seem to play with things more when their items are refreshed regularly. I wasn't sure what to think when it arrived because I wasn't sure where I had room to put it. But after building it and seeing how much I love it, I realized it's small enough that you can pretty much find a place for it anywhere. In my opinion, it's the absolute perfect size for a toddler. All the corners are rounded, so you don't have to worry about them getting hurt. The screws are visible, but if you tighten them fully, the heads are recessed, so little ones can't access any hardware. There are no pinch points and nowhere for little fingers to get trapped. Overall, I am very impressed by this adorable bookcase. My little girl is going to have her own room soon, and now I definitely feel the urge to check out more of this brand's offerings. I'm hoping they have other bedroom pieces that match the same charming vibe as this bookcase! TLDR; Cute, sturdy, easy to assemble, and perfectly sized for toddlers. This is one of those rare kid furniture pieces that looks great, functions well, and gives parents a little extra peace of mind. Highly recommend!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cute little bookcase is just that- cute and smaller than I thought it would be! I am grateful to have received this case as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Building it took about 45 minutes (probably 10 min could’ve been avoided if it weren’t for user error and mixing up a couple of the panels), and needs your own screwdriver. The pieces are really well-made and solid, though! It just took a bit longer to set up for what it is. Books (and overall clutter!) build up fast in our household even as a one-child home, with the child being 12 months old. I think bigger bookcases in this case would be more useful to buy, that way you have fewer pieces of furniture taking up space. This Trellis case is nice since we did have a bit of an overflow of books, but it is now going to be an extra piece of furniture for only being able to hold a few stacks of books and maybe some toys. I will say, however, that it is perfect height for my son to grab books out of more easily!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Trellis storage cubby by Little Seeds is absolutely adorable for toddlers and young children. Upon receiving my storage cubby through stellar product testing panel, I was concerned that the assembling process would be complicated however, there is an instruction video that thoroughly illustrated on how to put the cubby together. The manual that comes with the package is also well illustrated and clear for those who need simple visual labels. I appreciate that the edges of the cubby are rounded and the unit itself is petit. Perfect for littles one to gather their beloved books and toys with ease. Overall, it took me about 40 minutes at most with my phillips head screwdriver. My toddler loves using the cubby as a playhouse for his toys and action figures in addition to storing his stuffed animals and books. We love having this cubby in his bedroom because it is functional decor. The color is neutral so his siblings can use it as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a cute bookshelf for a nursery or room with limited space. It went together so quickly and easily (even with the help of my two year old) and fits in my newborns room perfectly. I was in the market for a smaller bookshelf since I couldn’t fit anything large in baby’s room with the crib, rocker, and dresser but still wanted a solution for little board books. I was then offered this storage cubby to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and it fit exactly what I was looking for. The cubby is lightweight but well constructed and sturdy. Since it is on the smaller side I would just make sure to pay attention to the dimensions, but I highly recommend if okay with the size. My toddler has loved having access to books to read to baby and has found a second use as a home for her little people (see photo which helps with sizing too). This cubby will definitely stick around our house even after the board book phase.

I loved the look and design of the bookshelf. It is a perfect addition to my little one’s room and fits the aesthetics perfectly. I really love that the bookshelf can also be a play space. The cute playful window cutouts are a perfect detail to the piece. The assembly process for putting the bookshelf together was pretty simple and didn’t include too many steps. What I liked most about the storage cubby was its design, which was very eye-catching and attention-grabbing for a small child. It was a plus that it is also multifunctional. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are 2 phases to buying bookshelf-like items for me. The initial “aww I love it, add to cart” phase and the “ugh I forgot I’d have to assemble it” phase. Because I received this as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, I passed phase one and moved right to phase 2. When I finally ripped the bandaid off to assemble this, I was SO pleasantly surprised. I was able to unpack, assemble and clean up assembly in less than 20 minutes (which is GREAT when you’re trying to capitalize on nap time). I really appreciated the labeled stickers being on parts of the bookshelf that were not visible so I did not need to spend time picking off stickers either. Small, but important! The bookshelf itself is sturdy and clean looking. The 4 little cubbies are perfect for my toddler and her random assortment of small toys/trinkets that must be visible at all times but I’d rather not have cluttered around. It’s functional and add a little whimsy to her room, but I do wish the bottom cubbies were slightlyyy bigger to be a bit more of a catch all. That being said, the small size lends itself well to small areas.

I can easily put books in the top two shelves and other toys or larger books on the bottom. This would also be amazing if you have two smaller ones sharing a room! It took me less than 30 minutes to set up. I also feel it’s a perfect height for my daughter who can easily access everything without needing mommy’s help. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product as part of the Stellar Product testing panel. That being said I really wanted to love the Storage Cubby Toy self/Bookcase. It is very cute and as soon as I finished putting it together my 4 year old daughter was using it as a dollhouse so it can be played with that way as well because its the perfect lil size. The issue is as soon as the very 1st screw (you start with the base) that I screwed in, mind you I was using a screwdriver, the screw just kept on turning and wouldnt stop. I definitely didnt strip it because I make furniture all the time and its actually something I really enjoy doing. Also what's really surprising is the instructions actually say to use a drill which contradicts any other instructions sheet I've ever seen because they always say not to use a drill because of the possibility of stripping the screws. That happened with quite a few screws but luckily enough of them actually tightened enough for it to stay together and be sturdy enough to use, so thank goodness it wasnt every screw. I will say that the wood is very thick and the pieces are very nicely made so it is very cool. It is on the smaller side but I knew that because I read the description carefully. It looks very cute in my baby boys room.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a huge book lover/collector and my kiddos also enjoy reading. This Little Seeds Trellis Storage Cubby Bookcase was perfect for allowing my youngest two to have their own little area just like mom's. (Although I would argue a bit this is more cubby than bookcase, as it doesn't have a ton of book room.) The aesthetic matched perfectly with my bookshelves, so it went right next to them, of course! I was able to put the board books and some slightly taller books on the bottom shelf, with some wider (but shorter) books on the top shelves. The roof, while adorable, does hinder the size of books you can put on the top which is a bit of a bummer but I appreciate that I can also put some cute toys up there too. Assembly was easy and straightforward, and took me less than 20 minutes (even with my kiddos trying to "help"). If I could make it maybe 6 inches taller, I would as it would give it a bit more longevity as my kids get bigger, but I really love it for now anyway. But once I set it up, I realized the size is actually perfect and adorable. It’s sturdy, toddler-friendly, and holds just the right amount without becoming overwhelming or cluttered. The look and design are so cute. It almost looks like a little dollhouse, which makes it perfect for my little girls’ room. It feels clean, aesthetic, and functional at the same time. Assembly was shockingly easy — iykyk. I put it together by myself in about 25 minutes with zero frustration. The instructions were simple, everything lined up well, and the finished result was absolutely adorable. What I love most is actually the size. It’s the perfect height and scale for 1–3 year olds to use independently, which makes their space feel accessible and organized without looking chaotic. The design is truly precious and fits beautifully into a cozy toddler room. I received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel though would (and plan to) get another one for our home. It’s adorable!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Storing kids toys is such a challenge. I really liked this bookcase for my daughter's toys and books. I received it through Stellar Product Testing Panel, and I am grateful I did. The cubby bookcase was very easy to put together, even with a toddler trying to "help". I think it took under 20 minutes. All the pieces line up, and it seems prettty sturdy. It works great to hold small toys and books in our living room, and I can see us using it in her room as well down the road. While she is a bit young to use it as a doll house, I think she will soon. This is useful, well-made, and definitely fits in lots of places.

I like how it's sturdy, looks good, and how there are handle spaces on the side to pick up and move. However, it's on the smaller side. It can fit some medium sized books and smaller or board books for younger children. We will continue to use it but as our kids get older it'll probably used exclusively for toys.

The Trellis Storage Cubby Bookcase arrived packaged well in a small(ish), flat box. My husband assembled it and said it was very easy to assemble. That said, he is very handy. Minimal tools were needed. The bookcase is extremely sturdy (see attached picture of my 40lb 3 year old sitting on it). It think it will be able to withstand a lot, it is not wobbly at all and seems very well made. It is very cute with details such as a door between the top levels and little windows on the sides. I was anticipating it being a little bigger - you can see it next to another cube storage bookcase for size comparison. I am going to put it in my daughters room once she gets a little older and i think it’ll be perfect storage for little toys/dolls as she ages! It’s soo cute and I love the little details!

It’s perfect to hold baby items that you need to keep organized and off to one area of the room. It keeps my 14mo old occupied too- he loves to walk up to it, and play with different items we keep in it or he will play his own little game of “take out, put back, take out, put back.” Set up was much easier than anticipated; A+ for those instructions. Took one star off only because we would love it to be a little bigger!

It only fits a few stuffed animals and isn’t tall enough for taller books and you’d run out of room because of the slanting “roof”. It’s super cute for a nursery or something along those lines, but I wouldn’t recommend it for robust storage for a playroom. Really easy to put together. It took about 15 minutes to assemble and only required a screwdriver. Also, minimal clean up in terms of styrofoam and cardboard. The Stellar Product Testing Panel sent this product to me to test and it did not disappoint. The product was easy to assemble and the look could not be beat. It was perfect for my two year old daughter's bedroom. We quickly added books to the shelf and stuffed animals to the storage unit at the bottom. It has been so easy for my daughter to pull off books to read and find a friend to snuggle with while we read. The design is also adorable! It looks like a little house and the white color makes it perfect to match any space. My daughter loved that it could also double as a little house for her stuffed animals! The size is also a plus. It is not as big as a regular bookshelf taking away any concern of it falling over. I would highly recommend this piece for a child's bedroom!

It was very easy for me (a busy mom with your average amount of handiness) to assemble the bookshelf. It took about a half an hour. All of the hardware was included, and the pieces arrived damage free. The shelf itself is made of high quality materials, and it feels really sturdy. I was able to quickly assemble the shelf with the provided paper directions. The design is adorable and functional. I love the style that allows my children to safely self - select their books and toys. I can easily rotate the selection, and my kids can reach books without needing my help. The shelf is about 20 inches long and at it's peak, it's 23 inches. You have to stagger books based on height, and some of my taller books do not fit. I love that some of my kids favorite toys have a spot to store them in this shelf too! Overall, the design, quality, and functionality of this self is 5 stars!
