The answer depends on which specific model you have, as Logitech's "classic" remotes and their newer "Spotlight" series have different levels of macOS support. Detailed Breakdown 1. The Newer Models (Spotlight & R500) These are built with macOS in mind. Software: You can download the Logitech Presentation Software for Mac to customize buttons and set timers. Permissions: On modern macOS (Sequoia, Sonoma, Ventura, etc.), you will need to grant "Accessibility" permissions in System Settings > Privacy & Security for the buttons to work correctly. 2. The Classic Models (R400 & R800) Logitech officially lists these as Windows-compatible, but they generally work as "Plug & Play" devices on a Mac. Basic Functions: The "Next" and "Back" buttons will usually work because the Mac recognizes the USB receiver as a standard keyboard. Limitations: The Laser Pointer (the physical red/green beam) will work fine because it's built into the hardware, but the "Start Slide" or "Blank Screen" buttons often do not work on Macs without third-party button-mapping software.
