Brother Wireless DCP-L2640DW Compact Monochrome Multi-Function Laser Printer

I did substantial research prior to buying this machine. Everything looked really good from documentation and reviews. Upon receipt and setup, I was very impressed, and it performed wonderful for simple prints and scans. My friend asked me how it did with envelopes, but I made the serious mistake of assuming it would do great, so I didn't test that for a couple of days. Upon testing envelope printing, I found that this machine is incapable of handling standard #10 business envelopes with ease. Each print was severely wrinkled and on a couple of occasions, it printed the addresses crooked. Wow, what is wrong with this machine? A dud? I did further research, and was utterly astonished. Brother expects users to open the back panel (no big deal) and then shove down two SMALL, highly-tensioned "green levers" in order to print a simple envelope! This is a joke, right? In order to go back to normal printing, you have to reverse the process, flipping up the green levers. This is totally unsuitable for most businesses that don't have time for such stupidity, and, in the case of some users who have arthritis in the hands, it simply will not work for them. I returned this clown world engineering product and bought a Canon MF465dw. You should, too. Prints perfectly, every time, and no green levers! You put in the standard envelope in the bypass tray, push print, and it pops out perfect, no wrinkling, no distortion, no hassle.

It has worked flawlessly and instructions were easy to follow. Good purchase.

I trued other printers that cost less, but this one so outweighed other printers anywhere near it current price. It is fast, for printing and scanning, prints beautiful text and has an easy to set up scanner. It automatically configured itself for my network. Really neat. My previous Brother lasted over 10 years.

So far, so good! A printer that finally fits my everyday need

Nice printer scanner. The problem is it doesn’t make no difference how nice if you can’t upload it to your computer to print. Ironically it does scan from the computer but not print. I have tired uninstalling and reinstalling a dozen times and I keep getting error message I need a driver. Well I have tried to load a Brother Driver for this printer to no avail. So basically I have a nice copy machine I could have paid a lot less for or small boat anchor. Need help.

Needed something for the office. Nice and simple to setup and use.

It works well. I am able to print from my laptop or my phone. My only issue is there isnt a drive to download for this model.

I generally like the Brother DCP2640DW laser printer. My complaint is frequent paper jams. The printer is for personal use, thus is not printing a lot. However, I have experienced three paper jams in four weeks. There are days the printer is not used, so I view these paper jams too frequent. I had an older Brother laser printer that printed for years and rarely a jam. I did not want to buy any more toner and another new drum for it because of its age. So, I purchased this DCP2640DW. Hope I didn't make a mistake.

EASY SET UP. Scans & emails are very dark even on low settings

Excellent product and software. Completely flexible to print anywhere you can imagine (iPhones, iPads, PC. Scanning is a breeze. It is super easy to start printing and scanning immediately. If you have any questions, help is available.

I hadn't bought a new printer in many years. I kept putting it off and trying to use the dinosaur i had. I wish i would have purchased this printer years ago. Im very happy with it!

This replaced a Brother scanner, copier and printer I had had for 16 years which was a wonderful machine. This does more and slightly faster. I love it. Thank you Brother

The only thing that is annoying at the least is the noise it produces when idle. After printing it continues to run loudly. Either than that it does awesome on printing and performance

I have been very satisfied. Good connect ability with network and prints on demand from remote devices. Print quality very good. Better than a comparable h# printer

Its been a decent copier. However we have a bug issue with this printer regarding that it will tell you that you are out of paper and there is plenty of paper in the tray. And also a connection issue.

So far, I am very happy with this printer, and I have bought ALOT of printers over the past twenty + years! My tech told me to go Brother and that sounded so generic to me, I went with what my other colleagues were using only to be disappointed and want to toss them out the window in three months with jams, constant ink refills, weekly updates, and nightmares! I just need to print and scan! So, hoping this review does not jinx me:)

Great printer/copier. I love it. Easy set up. I wish the documentation was better.
