About this item
Highlights
- In the Haut Beaujolais (the northern Beaujolais) granitic and sandy soil has a high percentage of manganese, producing an especially deep, rich Gamay
- Extended maceration ensures maximum extraction of color and tannins.
- America's #1 Selling French Red Wine
- Since 1859, one of the most venerable, most trusted and revered wine houses in Burgundy
- Maison Louis Jadot practices a further, though expensive, practice called réplis, in which wines of a higher appellation are incorporated into village level wines
Description
Grapes are sourced from the finest vineyards within the Beaujolais-Villages appellation in northern Beaujolais. Louis Jadot practices the quality-driven “replis” method, whereby grapes of higher classifications from the 10 famed Beaujolais Cru villages are added to elevate the blend. The area’s granite and sandy subsoils contain a high percentage of manganese, which produces an especially deep and rich expression of Gamay. Grapes are handpicked in whole bunches and traditional Burgundian methods are used for vinification.

I absolutely love this RED.
This is a medium-bodied wine and very smooth tasting, and easy on the palate. I haven't paired this with anything but I'm sure it'll go well with the usual red pairings out there - such as a nice filet mignon steak or anything in between like duck, or similar ‘roasted’ poultry dishes. I mostly drink my wine alone (meaning by itself w/o any pairings) and I love the subtlety and its hint of smokiness from this selection. I missed my Merlot but have been indulging on Cabernet Sauvignon and this is in between and I must say - Louis Jadot gamays are my new favorite!

Hint of Apocalypse & Cordyceps
10/10 best apocalypse wine, pairs with rabbit, and great friends like, say, Bill & Frank.

Actually good
Actually really great mild flavor, can be enjoyed on its own. We paired it with duck and it was delicious.

This was a nicely smooth wine! Not too bitter, and not too sweet.

New favorite
My new fave! Have been looking for a wine that isn’t too sweet yet still fruity and tasty. This is definitely not sweet but still very enjoyable to drink. I like it both room temp and chilled. Close to an expensive wine taste yet is decently priced.

Nice fresh easy to drink red wine. Even better when you chill it a little bit.
