Here she has celebrated love and mourned losses; she has gotten to know its neighborhoods and learned when it was time to leave the city center streets to find a house with a view of the sky.

Madrid Kills Me spans more than two years in the life of Elvira Sastre. Based on the columns she wrote for El País from September 2018 to November 2020, the poet and winner of the 2019 Premio Biblioteca Breve has shaped her most personal book, as tender and intimate as it is assertive, in a carefully curated edition that includes color photographs, poems, letters, and content written for the occasion.
