Book Synopsis
Get a whole new perspective on Maisy! Lucy Cousins reimagines her famous mouse in an exuberant concept book that will fascinate young fans. You've never seen Maisy like this! She's fast, she's slow, she's messy, she's clean--in this kaleidoscopic concept book, the beloved mouse even changes her look from familiar to new as she demonstrates thick and thin, tall and short, young and old, wiggly and straight. With colors and patterns so vibrant they leap off the page, this fresh approach to concepts makes learning about opposites irresistible, for both loyal Maisy fans and new friends alike.Review Quotes
Cousins has fun with perspective and pattern, adding some texture to opposites like stripes and spots, or spiky and fluffy. Through it all, the blithe, familiar smile of Maisy Mouse keeps the tiny audience safe and sound with these new ideas. An ideal first book for babies, teaching essential words with bright, basic illustration.

Tickmenot - 27 days ago
The fun begins with the size of this book, it is very large, measuring more than 11” by 11.” This book of rhymes states the opposite word on each page, such as Maisy fast and Maisy slow, or Maisy here and Maisy there. The author has out-done herself with her illustrations. Each page has fun, colorful pictures that show what Maisy is up to. Children will have a good time with the sound of the rhymes, and lots of giggles for the fun Maisy has. Make sure to ask your child if they can name Maisy’s friends that are in some of the pictures. Have a good time while reading this book, making sounds and faces to go with the text, and you will get lots of laughter in return. I love this five-star book. It will be enjoyed by ages one through five-years-old. Thanks to Candlewick Books for providing Tickmenot with a book to review. Opinions are my own.
