Q: Would you recommend it for kids to get.
A: Maybe kids in middle school and so on. Because its college ruled so its not suitable for kids in 6th grade and under.

Q: Is there marks to rip out each page successfully? Or is this more of a joirnal than a school notebook?
A: There are no perforations on these pages--they are bound together, just like a book.

A: I got one for my two kids and they loved it! They used it as an overview of what they were doing each day! Very useful!
