Frediani earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinema from Columbia College-Hollywood. Frediani was first elected President of the SOC in 1995 and served as Editor-in-Chief of Camera Operator magazine. He has been on the SOC Board of Governors ever since then. Since 2004 he has been a member of the National Executive Board of International Cinematographers Guild and also edited ICG magazine. He has been chairman of both organization's Heritage and Historical committees. Frediani has been a camera operator since 1989 with over 80 film credits including 2nd unit operator on the feature films Shattered, Hostage, and Underworld.
