I bought this for my son and we have a blast playing but it's always short lived because no matter what, the blue man wins. The red head pops by itself just by throwing a couple punches. The blue man's head always sticks causing him to win.

Smaller, cheaply-made, not worth the money. I received this toy for my 5th birthday (43 years ago). My father and I played this for hours beating each other up with little plastic robots. 40 years later I couldn't wait to share with my Son. Oh how disappointed I was when I finally assembled this piece of junk. This toy is much smaller than the original. The robots are smaller and the arm articulation is very stiff and not fluid. It also doesn't make the whirring sound when you knocked a block off. Well it does, but it's barely audible. Find the original if you can, but avoid this one by all costs. It will only lead to disappointment. Mattel, I've loved your toys through the years. I have many years playing with a Mattel toy, From Rock'em Sock'em Robots to all the Star Wars Toys. You guys were a huge part of my Childhood. It's a shame you won't be part of my Son's.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We found that it was a fun family game. However the blue sockem mans head would stick all the time so if you were the blue you would always win because his head was harder to go up. That was our only disappointment it brought a lot of arguments with children that could have been avoided.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Comes in a cool retro box. Very easy to put together, about 5 minutes. My 3 and 12 year old went as it they like it very much, stood up to the abuse my 3 year old gave it. Soon my wife and we're playing with them as well. It's a nice change from all the electronic devices.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My boys 8 & 5 were super excited to receive Rock'em Sock'em robots. I guess they had played this at their cousins house earlier this year & was familiar with it. Set up was easy didn't really have to explain how to play. The boys played for about an hour and then moved on to other things. I think it was probably a great game in the 60's when there was probably less variety of games. unfortunately its set on a side table now for 3 days, I'm the only that has touched it. Just can't compete with some of the other toys out today.
An amazing classic!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a favorite from my childhood that all the cool kids had at their home, I did not own one but would go to my best friends house to play with him. My children instantly lit up once I had easily pieced the rock em sock em robots together, this seemed to be made of a higher quality material than I remember but I could be wrong. This game is hours and hours of block knocking entertainment that any family would love to have! The thumb buttons are easy to use and very friendly for little fingers and the colors of the game bring your eyes directly to the board with the robots on them. This is such an amazing game to play over and over.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good toy for kids to play with others. My son and daughter "fight" with this toy. It's fun as they are learning to use motor skills-there are two switch that you have to push to control your punches. Rock em sock em robot was easy to put together (under 5 mins) and sturdy enough to take the kid's rough play.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My two children couldn't wait to play Rock'em and Sock'em Robots. The components are sturdy, and maintain the classic colors and feel of the original. I was able to assemble the game with ease. It involved installing the boxer pedestals, then the two boxers themselves, and lastly the boxing ring ropes. The rules are fairly simple, start punching until one of the robots gets hit hard enough to knock his block off. The game has become a kids favorite and can keep their attention for about 20 minutes at a time, but they keep coming back to it in order to see who can become is the ultimate champion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We all remember this toy from our childhood. It was awesome then, and I'm happy to say that that hasn't changed. Snap together and rock your socks off... hopping the head off your opponent. My children had a blast playing with this, they really enjoyed beating eachother and I had fun too. The kids weren't bothered by the lack of high techness, which made me happy. They have played with it for hours and it's still going strong. It seems well made and of high quality. Overall a fantastic purchase and I highly recommend it.
I love this toy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When my son opened the box he was very eager to put the game together because he loves boxing. The setup took about 5 minutes and then it was game time. My son 9 asked my 6 year old daughter to play and he thought it was great to be able to beat up his sisters robot. They played for hours. Tons of fun for everyone.
