Maxim Lighting Dawn 1 - Light Semi-Flush Mount in White/Satin Brass

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our over the sink light was in desperate need of an upgrade, so when I had the chance to get and install the Dawn Flush Mount light from Maxim, I didn’t hesitate. And now that it is lighting up our kitchen, I couldn’t be happier. The light was very well packaged, with thick styrofoam and cardboard buffering it on every vulnerable side. It was pristine, without dent or scratch, the color consistent through the entire price. Installation was a breeze, and it took my husband no more than 15 minutes from box to the breaker being turned back on and lighting my sink up. Fortunately the fixture has a very deep upper part, so it’s easy to seat the wires inside. This is especially important to us because we have excess wire coming out of the ceiling, so smaller fixtures don’t work for us (yes I know we can trim it, but if we don’t have to, it’s better to keep just in case). The Dawn Flush Mount is pretty light weight-wise, so holding it up while wiring it up wasn’t much of a problem. The light itself has a modern, or farmhouse look to it, and it’s style can look good with different aesthetics. It is bright white on the outside, and gold on the inside, and it looks good when the bulb is both lit and unlit. I will say that the gold does warm up the light, casting a slightly yellow shade, even with a pure white bulb. If you want a very clean and sterile look, this light may not be for you…but for us it works perfectly. This isn’t our first light fixture from Maxim, and our previous one is working and looking as good now as it did when it was new, so I have every belief that this one will are just as well. With its versatile design, this light will find a place in our home for a very long time, and I will recommend.

This was perfect and adds a fun design element that replaced a very basic builder grade light fixture. It is simple but has some flare with the white with gold interior.

It is easy to install, directions are simple enough. We did not need to get an electrician. It does give off a yellow light because of the gold inside the light. It is perfect for this room.

This is a nice size fixture as it’s big enough to fill an average sized room. I was concerned it might be too small but was pleasantly surprised once I received it. The gold touch on the inside is a nice addition. The gold is slightly matte which I think gives it a classy feel without being over the top. I do wish it was a little more flush to the ceiling.
