A: Hi 1jaslz, this pillow protector is not specifically tested for resistance to moths. It does have a pore size of under 10 microns which gives it its allergen barrier properties.

A: Hi pete, this is not a waterproof protector. It may help to reduce stains from forming on your pillow but will not prevent liquid from soaking through.

If your pillow is completely dry, putting a protector on it will not foster mold growth. Additionally, this protector is not waterproof, so if something is spilled on the protector, the pillow and protector will need to be completely dried out to protect from mold and mold spores

Q: The product description said that it’s “Bed bug bite proof”. Does that also mean that they can trap the bedbugs in the case and prevent them from getting past the pillow protector?

I picked up two of these in store today. I ended up returning the first one because it looked like it had been opened and that freaked me out. When I opened the second to put it in the washer, I saw a brown stain that was about 3 mm across. I looked inside the case and there was an outline of what looked suspiciously like the shape of a bedbug. Hard pass. Immediately threw it into a sealed Target bag and will return tomorrow. I didn’t take a pic bc I was too creeped out and wanted it out of my house asap. Hopefully they don’t put it back on the shelf. I bought two other cases from this brand today as well but in the 100% cotton variation, and those appear to be okay. Hopefully they are. And hopefully so is the mattress encasement I bought last week and already put on my bed. I bought it for allergies but now I’m paranoid about bugs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Allerease Maximum Zippered Pillow Protector is a good soft material with a little plastic feel and sound. I was looking for something that was more fabric feeling than plastic and these almost did the trick. It fits my standard size pillow perfectly and the zipper holds up well. One of the corner seams has a loose thread now after a few washes but that is a minor fix. I love that it keeps my pillow new looking and that it is machine washable instead of having to buy new pillow protectors every few months. The white color does show droll stains and any other dirt that might get on your pillow. But better on the protecter case than the actually pillow. I would recommend Allerease Maximum Zippered Pillow Protector to everyone. Who doesn’t like to keep their pillows looking clean. But especially parents! Kids toss their pillows on the floor all the time and constantly spilling drinks or something in their rooms. Protect there pillows!

Works well and have noticed that I’m less congested in the morning. I noticed a few comments from others about the feel of the material and how hot and noisy it is… these aren’t pillow cases… they’re pillow protectors. You’re meant to put a pillow case on the outside of this protector. If you buy the mattress protector, you’ll also need sheets just like always. Hopefully that helps.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've bought these protectors in the past and they seem to loose their shape and structure with repeated washing. As they breakdown, my assumption is that the protection also breaks down. We've been using the Allerease for more than 3 months with at least weekly washing (I tend to sweat at night, so we wash the sheets regularly). The Allerease has maintained a strong feel and maintained that new structure making me more confident that I am getting the allergy protection I need. We're pleased with the quality and durability.
