I got some little packets of this when I was in the hospital and pumping. After I got home, I realized how glad I was I had some with me! My nipples were cracked and scabbed in the first week or so, and this provided some much-needed relief. I ended up buying a full tube of it because my baby doesn’t have a great latch and it can cause some soreness even though my boobs are tougher than they used to be.
It has the consistency of Vaseline, and goes on smooth. It’s pretty thick and oily, but that’s not a bad thing when your nipples are sore- the more the better!
The reason I don’t love it is that it easily stains clothes, although you can spot treat with dish soap before washing to get it out. I wear washable nursing pads, and after a few days of using this I realized it left a residue on the nursing pads that is hard to get out, even after spraying with stain remover. They feel a little stiff and smell like lanolin after washing, and have a slightly darker spot in the center. So if I use this, I have learned to use disposable nursing pads with it.
I’m planning on making my own nipple balm with coconut oil, almond oil, and cocoa butter when I can find the time because it won’t stain as much and I prefer the scent. However, if these minor things don’t bother you, it’s great for what it’s supposed to do!
Really helps for those first weeks of breastfeeding/ pumping to soothe sore nipples

Hi Goldie--- We're so happy that the Tender Care Lanolin gave you some much needed relief in those first few weeks of breast feeding. Thank you so much for your feedback and we wish you the best in your breast milk feeding journey!
I was researching what to put on a prickly heat rash and a few sites recommended anhydrous lanolin. So I bought this lanolin and it worked really well to sooth the itch and heal up the rash. Much better than the hydrocortisone cream I had been using.

I love this brand of lanolin! It goes on so smooth. I have tried another brand that was so sticky feeling. I love Medela’s lanolin! It’s smooth and really works to help with dryness, soreness, and cracking. I would recommend it to every breastfeeding Mama!
