Description
Little drivers will have good, clean fun with the Melissa & Doug Spray & Shine Car Wash! Spray the jumbo-sized red sports car with ice cold water from the car wash basin using the built-in pump sprayer, and watch the “dirt” magically disappear! Make it sparkle with the sponge, squeegee, and play soap bottle, wipe with the towel, and shine with the battery-free buffer (just pull the tab to make it shake!). Drive away through the car wash drying rollers and hit the road for imagination-fueled car-zooming adventures! Rinse it with warm water to make the dirt re-appear—time to head back to the car wash to rinse and repeat! The car should not be exposed to direct sunlight and may change back to “dirty” after a time. Color changing is heat dependent, so be sure to add ice cubes to the car wash basin to clean and to use warm water to make dirt reappear. Kids three and older will love vrooming, zooming, and cleaning again and again while boosting important developmental skills, like motor development, storytelling, and learning a bout cause and effect.

It has all the accessories like a real car wash and even has the little drive up ramp and fluffy cleaners you drive through.-Exactly like a real car wash! You just simply add cold with some ice cubes to make the water extra cold to magically remove the mud on the car. My son Jace l played with this all day after we received it. It comes with a nice sized car as well. I was impressed at how big it was! Great product and great quality!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to love this Melissa & Doug car wash. It is super cute, and my daughter was super excited to play with it. There were a few things that I wish I could change to make it 5 stars. The color-changing aspect of the car wash was exciting for my 3-year-old; however, when it says cold water, it means cold water. The water from my faucet was not quite cold enough, so I had to add ice to it, as the picture shows. This is fine for older kids, but my 3-year-old kept asking me to heat up the water because her little fingers were cold. We love any toy that keeps their attention, and if the water were warm, I think she would have played with this toy all afternoon. The water is stored underneath the car wash, and we did have a spill or two all over the floor after my curious child realized she could open it. But when you’re washing the car it drains underneath so there’s no mess there! Overall, if the color-changing feature switched the use of hot and cold water , so that the mud disappeared with warm water and needed cold water to appear again, it would be a 5-star for us.

And you really do need to put ice cubes in the cold water to make Lightning change color. But overall they really enjoy it. I just have to put a towel down under it. Although , it’s a good activity and too much fun for them. A perfect toy for kids.

My nephew enjoyed adding water over and over again to make the sprayer clean the car. And when he gets bored of cleaning the car he ends up playing with just the car. It’s the perfect toy to have for your children!

The water definitely needs to be cold in order for it to work, but the toy has held up well and is safe for kids to use. Easy to take turns, with a little warm water "dirt" comes right back.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really excited about this toy for my kids, especially because the product description made it sound like the car would change color during the wash, which adds a fun, interactive element. Unfortunately, that never happened. We tried using cold water, warm water, and even followed every tip we could find online – but nothing worked. The car stayed exactly the same color no matter what. While the spray bottle and squeegee are cute and my kids had some fun pretending, the whole point of the toy is that the car should visibly change when wet. Without that, it's just a basic water play set with no wow factor. Would not recommend unless the color-change feature is fixed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So fun! While this is intended for a 3-4 year old, all three of my kids (ages 8,6,&4) enjoyed playing with this toy. The set up was quick and easy. However, cap for the water broke immediately upon the initial opening and will no longer stay closed. This is not really a functional aspect of the toy, so it’s fine, but I was a little disappointed with the quality from that standpoint. The interactive pretend play is endless and my kids enjoyed cleaning and “detailing” the car.
