Not working
This item works for a few minutes before nothing working. I saw many comments show similar complaints. I did try playing with the puzzle in a well-lit room but it does not work as there is no sound.

The prices make no sense but I put in brand new batteries abs the sounds were good and my 2-1/2 year old grandson liked it. However the sounds wouldn't work the next time I turned on, very disappointed. Obviously cheap wuality

Works with LIGHT!
Be aware this puzzle functions with light/ bright area!! I’m saying this bc all the bad reviews saying it doesn’t work, and there is nothing indicating that in the description or images. The puzzle looks good quality and fun but my 2 yo doesn’t seem very interested, I keep putting it away and re-introducing in toy rotation but she doesn’t seem to be into it. Maybe it’s more fitting for younger kids?

I would not buy an item like this again.
Bought this puzzle for my 18 month old grandson on Christmas! Put new batteries in and the puzzle does not make the house sounds as advertised. Very disappointing purchase. Even though he can work the puzzle my expectation was that it would work properly

This was the first gift my son opened, of all the puzzles I bought for him, and the sound doesn't work. It came in the "on" position and is apparently, dead. Super disappointing.

We currently own probably 30 puzzles. This is the puzzle that got us started. Rewind a couple years ago: My now-4-year-old daughter got some Melissa and Doug puzzles as presents, and she barely touched them. Fine, whatever. "Maybe kids don't like puzzles," I thought. Fast forward to six months ago: My 2-year-old son "discovers" this forsaken house puzzle, and he becomes obsessed. He has breakdowns when he has to be separated from it or he can't play with it. "Hmm," I thought, "Maybe some kids like puzzles after all." So this house puzzle was our gateway puzzle. It turns out my son LOVES all the puzzles, and he's even gotten his older sister interested in them as well.

Made for an Unhappy Birthday Boy
Super Cute. My son was very excited to receive it as a gift from his Auntie. I was excited for the sound puzzle as he has quite a few Melissa and Doug puzzles, and loves them, but none of them are sound. So why 1 star, it doesn't make sound for us. Well it does sometimes. Which I think is worse than no sound at all. Sometimes it gives sound to every piece, sometimes it gives sound to only a few pieces, but most times we don't get any sound. So my son knows it is supposed to make sounds and gets frustrated when it doesn't happen and when Mumma can't fix it. And yes it has brand new batteries in it. It is unfortunate product quality and quality control has gone to the wayside for most children's toys. This is 1 of 2 toys he received for his birthday that were defunct. I was surprised with this toy being a Melissa and Doug toy. I will contact customer service maybe they are better than the other departments. Sigh

I don't recommend this one.
Wasn't very happy with it. You Take a piece out of the puzzle and no music comes out only when you put the piece back was not impressed with it at all. If you have a child that can't put the piece in they won't hear any music.
