@danaesegura_ The last several days have been nothing short of normal. First off, school was cancelled for 2 days last week due to Texans not knowing how to drive in icy conditions 🥶 and then I started feeling sick 🤧 Thankfully I’m now on the other side and sound much worse today than I actually feel 🙏🏼 but I’m still not 💯 All I’ve done for the last few days is drink hot tea ☕️ and cozy up on the couch in my robe with a good book 📖 I love reading, but most of my reading these days are usually personal development books. Don’t get me wrong, I love diving into a great PD book, but this novel has been sitting on my nightstand for over a year! So having zero energy this weekend, it was the prefect opportunity to finally open it up! I loved the Twilight series growing up and am loving this version from Edward’s perspective. But I have a very serious question to ask: Are you Team Edward 🧛🏻 or Team Jacob? 🐺 #joyfullyfitandfierce #danaesegura #nbtx #teamedward #twilightsaga #readingtime #momtolittles #bookseries

@bookquoth “For the first time in a hundred years, I was grateful to be what I was. Every aspect of being a vampire—all but the danger to her—was suddenly acceptable to me, because it was what had let me live long enough to find Bella. The decades I had endured would not have been so difficult had I known what was waiting for me, that my existence was advancing toward something better than I could have imagined. It had not been years of killing time, as I had thought; it had been years of progress. Refining, preparing, mastering myself so that I could have this now.” 🥰 . . Well, I finally got around to finishing Midnight Sun! While it was a little long and slow in places, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the nostalgia of returning to this world and hearing Edward’s perspective, knowing all his thoughts. That part really provided more insight and enhanced the other novels (and movies) for me. You understand it a little bit more after reading this, and there were a few a-ha moments. If you’re a fan of the Twilight world and haven’t picked it up yet, I recommend it. It might not be as exciting or thrilling, since we all know the story & outcome, but it was still fun! I could spend time with Edward all day. #TeamEdward forever! 🧛🏻‍♂️ . . Review Quotes

[Midnight Sun] is more complex, more sophisticated and less innocent than Twilight. Although it was Bella's story that launched more than a decade's worth of young adult sci-fi and dystopian heroines, it turns out the narrative power -- and compelling internal drama -- was on Edward's side all along.--Time

For ardent fans of the star-crossed couple, [Midnight Sun] offers a more richly detailed view of Forks, Wash., and its inhabitants, undead and otherwise.--The New York Times

So, will team Edward be happy with this book?... Absolutely. Meyer wrote with her biggest fans in mind, dedicating the book to them, and plunging into the mind of Washington state's most complicated teenage vampire as he falls for a woman who is more determined than we've given her credit for.--The Washington Post

Stephenie Meyer's Midnight Sun brings about a long-awaited consummation. It's not a climactic moment between teenager Bella Swan and the gorgeous vampire Edward Cullen but a consummation that reconnects Ms. Meyer with her vast and hungry audience.... Will gratify devotees.--The Wall Street Journal

The new book does, however, unexpectedly and rather wonderfully, suggest that the Bella-Edward relationship was never the central love affair of the Twilight series. Humans and vampires may gaze meaningfully into each other's eyes, but the true passion in the books is Meyer's love for her readers -- and their love for her.--NBC News
