I really wanted to love this table and but I think my expectations were too high. I love Target Home stuff but I now think their furniture is not up to par with their smaller items. I feel very frustrated. PROS: I will say that I truly LOVE the functionality. I love it enough for me to rate this 3 stars instead of 1. I didn't even buy it for its function, but the cubby/shelves things basically give you twice the surface area, and allow you to keep the top nice and neat while still have all the storage/random stuff you keep on your coffee table out of site. I did not know how much I needed this until I got this table. It was also very easy to assemble- it took me about 45 minutes. It came super quick, about 3 business days. CONS: First, it is definitely darker than it looks in the images, so beware. That's what bums me out most. I thought it was going to be a lighter brown/unfinished wood tone, like the normal color of caned/rattan things. It's quite orangey and closer to a dark brown, kind of a terra-cotta. Second, it came with issues. There were pieces needed for assembly missing (some nuts and bolts- luckily I had my own that fit). Two different holes were made too large, so the screws that were supposed to go there couldn't be attached, making it less stable. It also was dented pretty badly on the edge of the top piece (again, luckily, it's on the bottom side, so you have to look to see it... but still). The side pieces are real wood, but the large pieces are that heavy cardboard fake wood stuff. I see now that that's buried in the details here (and I probably should have assumed it would be for the price). But not only is that why it came with a big dent showing the ugly brown cardboard, I already have multiple dents on the top after less than a week and minimal use. If the color would look good in your place, you can get it on sale (I paid 83- would not pay any more), you're willing to risk it coming with mistakes/missing pieces, and the soft wood thing doesn't bother you, you should get it. It has potential to be a great coffee table. With my situation and experience, not so much.
