Mitch Miller had tremendous success with his "Singalong" albums, starting in 1958 with SING ALONG WITH MITCH, featuring a male chorale and his own distinctive arrangements. The idea sparked off a long series of TV shows on NBC from 1961 to 1964. Miller became a household name with his television show, and by 1963, Miller had made 17 SING ALONG albums, all enjoying big sales.
