These are great speakers for a fraction of the cost of the competition.

these are good speakers. I have used monoprice inwall speakers for all three home theater builds. I think the best thing you could do is get a receiver that will drive the speakers good. I always end up on the mid range and have to turn the volume up. I would recommend these to any one who wants to make a home theater for less than $2000.

These speakers are unbeatable for the money. I will need a subwoofer with adjustable cross over to provide more spatial sound and bass. The dog ears come tightened on the speakers some too much. One of the was tightened too much that instead of turning into position when I attempted to adjusted it to the wall , it did not turn and the screw broke. Customer service offered to exchange the whole speaker, because the did not have spare parts. I though it was a waste. I glued the plastic dog ear that cracked when the screw broke inside, removed the screw and got a replacement 2? screw, worked great! . I was lucky. On the other 3 speakers I loosened the screws before tightening the dog ears on the wall. Great detail on the tweeters, not so much bass on the 8?woofers, good sound ! Wished the had a bass leve adjustment too, then they would be really 5 stars

I've got several options in the same room to choose from depending on what I feel like that day. So a side by side is a push of the button. I can only get to the poor ratings others have given these speakers if the use of a DSP, or at least an EQ is missing. These days our media really needs to have time correction and individual channel level adjustment. If it's not built in to the amp, a stand alone must be added. Any speaker set-up will sound off without it. I gave it 4 stars because I think MP should carry these in a 4Ohm option. It would open up the possibility of hundreds more amp options without the RMS sacrifice. There are more systems 2 Ohm stable than ever before and to not take advantage of that is missed opportunity for true great sounding kits. Most people won't buy a second set to wire them for a 4Ohm load, the output is designed to be dead-headed anyway. As exceptional as they are.. a 4Ohm option is deserved of it's quality.

Team: I have 4 of these in-walls set up in my master bedroom. I knew I did not have the wife approval for a subwoofer so needed speakers that could take some of that load. Take note that this is my 3rd setup at home, not primary. All in, I am very happy with how these speakers perform. Bass response is pretty impressive, specially on the 2 surrounds place on the ceiling that has a lot of insulation. The 2 fronts next to the TV do not have wall insulation and still do a decent job. I will add insulation to try to help on the bass response. On the mids and highs I am also pleased, specially considering that 4 speakers went for less than $350. Mid can be a bit harsh but I would be asking WAY too much for the price. For a secondary system, these speakers are a no brainer. Installation was a breeze but I had the wiring left on the walls when we remodeled the house a few years ago. It is still stressing to cut such a huge hole in your walls crossing fingers that the sound will be good. There is no simple option to just send back and patch the wall. I did test this speakers before cutting the wall on a box, trying to test before cutting. In the family room I have a similar setup but with 2 Def Techs LCRs with dual 6.5" flanking the TV and 2 Def Techs 6.5" on the ceiling for surround plus a Subwoofer from SVS. Sound there I think is definitely a bit better but considering the price difference... I recommend who ever is considering in-walls to seriously try to go for 8" woofers, makes a big difference IMHO vs the 6.5" On the main theater I have floor standing speakers for mains, bookshelfs for surrounds and recently added 2 Monoprice amber ceiling speakers for Atmos (round ones). Difference between this room and rest is night and day for sure, so do not kid yourself that in-walls will match a traditional setup. In-walls can give you a VERY satisfactory experience for sure, and not having speakers and wires around is fantastic and a must for certain rooms. I now feel I can watch a good movie / show in any of the three rooms w/o thinking that I am having a handicapped experience by not watching all my shows on the main theater. I listen to music in all three rooms with pleasure. Yes, if I want to have the best experience, movie night, or careful music listening, I go to the theater room and blast it. Hope helps

I have these for my r/l surround speakers and they are awesome. The grill is magnetic and easy to take off and paint. They sound great.

I'm amazed by the sound quality of this speaker given the price. The highs are clear and there's just enough bass. The sound may be a bit "bright" for some people's taste: I did use the attenuator to lower the treble just a bit. Installation was a bit tricky because the cutout templates led to the wall holes being slightly too small. It took a lot of tinkering to get the cutouts the right size and still straight. All in all, though, very satisfied.

Il give these speakers 5 stars cos for the price they go for the sound and the build is amazing. I like them and I saw x3 the price speakers and these are just as good.

These things are just flat amazing. I LOVE THEM. The sound sends chills up my back. The French horns sould absolutely real, as do the acoustic guitars. Listening to a fine vocalist is like hearing her in the same room. Wow.
