Monoprice 3-Way Carbon Fiber In-Wall Column Speaker - 6.5 Inch With Ribbon Tweeter (Each) - Amber Series

Great sound and value! Perfect for my surround sound system.

Purchased this in April through Amazon and checked here to see if they still sold it. Just got to finishing up the wiring for the theater room and watched a movie. Within the first half an hour, at medium low volume, the voices of the movie started having a monotone sound. It was like listening to a show through an old black and white TV. The sound got better occasionally and now has the monotone sound again. I don't believe it is an issue with the tweeter but one of the 6.5 inch speakers isn't putting through sound anymore. I will upload a video of it working and when it stops working when I get the chance.

Packaging and looks / materials all seem great, was enthusiastic to start off. Hooked a pair up on my bench to test and am pretty disappointed in how they have zero bass and mids. I?ll be breaking them in (20+ hours) and building in wall enclosures to see how they react but right now they are not suitable for music. I?ve used a range of infinite baffle speakers in various home/marine/auto projects and these are the weakest by a large margin but will hold off on final determination after I put them through their paces a little more. Will update this review as needed.

For the money, they simply can?t be beat. I have them in the room adjacent to a MUCH more expensive in-wall theater setup so I can compare them pretty directly. I got left, center, and right in Monoprice for about 70% of the price of ONE front speaker from a major brand and the sound is, at worst, comparable and, at best, even preferred by some of my guests!

The quality of the holders on this are pathetic, on both of the speakers I bought, I had two of the plastic holders break with nothing more than typical effort and if I want to get them replaced, it will cost me the cost me shipping. Very disappointed.

I am very impressed with the detail these speakers produce. I built boxes , and took the pot plug out to extend the low frequencies. Very pleased

I use as my center. Great sound, will follow up after a year once the ribbon is broken in.

Not at all impressed. You get what you pay for. Ribbon tweeter looks nice but distorts at low listening levels. Mid bass was decent once i removed the cap on the port that was glued in place. Will replace asap.

I think the best thing you could do is get a receiver that will drive the speakers good. I always end up on the mid range and have to turn the volume up. I would recommend these to any one who wants to make a home theater for less than $2000. r whether you would recommend this product and what you like or dislike about it.

I installed this unit sideways as a center channel and it looks and sounds great. Very clear sound, crisp highs and mids. Does well with both music and dialogue. Solid construction and easy installation. Matched with 4 amber in-ceiling 8 inch units.

I dont normally write reviews ever!! But I just had to give credit where its due. I have owned many speakers over the years ei. Cerwin Vega,Vandersteins,Infinnity,Pioneer,Sony,Fisher and the list goes on and on.But I must say that these are my new favorates. Words cant even begin to explain just how good these speakers sound,and for how much?? Im so happy with these Im going to get more. Definatly great bang for the buck!

After initial installation I was ready to throw these in the trash heap. The tweeter was terrible...screechy and annoying. After a year or so of not replacing them, they mellowed out. I had considered putting rubber cement on the tweeter folds but did not do that. I re-built a Sony sub woofer to fit my space and use an Onkyo A-9555 amplifier. The sound now is not is not just acceptable, it is great. Good balance, good imaging, and musical.

I put a pair of these in for the side speakers in my 11.2 system. They were really easy to install and it really helped clean up the look of my room. I used a fish tape to run the wire in the wall.

How many times do you spend your money and get three times the value you think you paid for? The quality of these speakers is beyond belief at this price point. I have seen thousand dollar box speakers with cross-overs that can't begin to compare with these hundred dollar wall speakers. Monoprice is my new "Go-To" On-Line store for all future purchases. And the packaging was was ten on a ten scale. Superb. Kudos to the Packaging Dept. I could not be happier with the sound. Its absolutely seamless - better than I ever hoped for. I'm blown-away with the entire experience with MonoP.

It is difficult these days to feel like you actually got what you paid for. These are a fantastic deal and you won't be disappointed.

Front Stage, and subwoofer home theater setup. Easy install, sound great, almost didn't need the subwoofer. I decided to do 2 of these for a matched center channel as opposed to the dedicated center channel option. I think the look and sound fantastic, driving mine with 150rms per channel.

Bought 3 .Built boxes for the in the wall they sound great.

I picked up all the Amber in walls for an Atmos 7.1.4 but I’m still at the painting the grills stage. They’ll be going in the new build house in 6 weeks. Maybe worth mentioning is that of all 11 speakers only this model had scrim that was glued down for life! I shredded it even carefully removing it and will need to source more. Otherwise they look impressive.

I brought this under suspicion, that this was a cheap buy. However I am very happy with the purchase, the sound is great the bass response is good. The highs can be slightly bright at times as I use it as a center channel that's where the high-level attenuator on the front comes in handy. Overall love the speaker.
