About this item
Highlights
- Soapbar Pickups: Ideal for anyone interested in superior value and an unconventional body style. DLX Offset Guitars are the first Indio brand guitars to feature "soapbar" style single coil pickups, which are known for their gritty and raw tone, somewhere between that of a classic single coil pickup and a dual coil humbucker. Although less common than single coil or humbucker pickups, soapbar pickups are responsible for some of the greatest and most memorable recorded tones in rock music.
- Superior Materials: Featuring a basswood body, maple neck, and rosewood fretboard, Indio OS30 DLX Guitars balance specs with value, while delivering superior resonance and playability. OS30 DLX models come in sunburst and ivory finishes, rounding out a stylish package that doesn't compromise on tone or playability.
- Set up in the USA: All lndio 0530 DLX Guitars are professionally setup by our Master Luthier in Southern California, ensuring that your guitar plays exceptionally well, right out of the box.
- Gig Bag Included: All Indio Electric Guitars ship with a protective Gig Bag to defend your axe against dings and scratches as you travel.
- Ideal for anyone interested in superior value and an unconventional body style.
Description

So, after FedEx sucked, all is good. The guitar arrived a day later than expected in perfect condition, box standing upside down weight on the headstock. Duh. The deal: The case pouch zipper is defective but doesn't matter, I'm using it for a dust cover anyway. Electronics are decent for the money. Sounds really nice and it will sound better with the new strings, stock ones only good for testing, setup etc. The tuners are just ok. May replace them may not. The frets are very sharp on the ends and even feel sharp as ya slide up or down on the fingerboard. I'll fix that. The tremolo seemed to work well for the type and returned to tuned position over and over. Was a little hard to push but I'll adjust that If I keep the bridge. I don't like the trem arm...thread in, sloppy fit, won't go far enough around to firmly stay where I want it. Threads feel cheesy and like I said, it's a sloppy fit. There is an awesome Floyd Rose Bridge trem available but it's 230 to 270 bucks. If it sounds super good after I set it up, I will consider the F R. After all, personalization is my goal. Being a cheap guy is not. All my guitars are customized by me. Won't find any stock Gs in my collection. All that said I think it's a great little guitar that will be awesome when set up frets cleaned up, and intonated. I would recommend it to anyone that can do simple common-sense setups. I also think Monoprice is a class act! FedEx, not so much!

This is the 4th guitar I have bought from this brand. It does have a few issues You should know. Although in most ways a very good deal for the money, Mine has "fret Sprout " on the sides of the neck on most frets. = Sharp metal . It can be fixed with a fine file. If You are not handy at DIY things You kmight buy a different model. I have 3 of the ASH ones ( Strat and tele style ) and they were near perfect when I got them.

this is indio #5 for me. Cali classic, retro classic, boardwalk, and 66 dlx sb. I really like all of them and the offset is my favorite because I mostly play sitting. I honestly don't know how you do it. when I was a kid you had beginner guitars Silverstone (danelectro) sears. and airline Montgomery wards. the indio guitars are far far and away better than those. as a matter of fact, the materials are much better. I am sorry Masonite is not a quality guitar material.

This is a nice guitar. Plays good straight out of the box. Probably could be improved with a proper setup and upgraded pickups, but I've been pretty happy with it so far as is. Maybe it would get less stars if it was more expensive, but for the price I paid, it gets five stars.

I am in love with this guitar and will buy another. It's gorgeous, sounds great and (after a set-up) it plays really nicely. An absolutely incredible guitar for the price.

In the land of budget guitars, this shines brightly. The soap bar pickups are outstanding. Even the green frets have a bit of charm.

A very solid guitar for the price. The neck had a few minor imperfections on the fretboard, but the frets themselves were well cut and rounded. No buzzing on the fretboard as well. The P90 "soapbar" pick ups sound amazing. Great all around purchase and would recommend.

This is my 3rd Indio guitar and may be my favorite. Nice guitar for the price. It came with the action set pretty well, the intonation was way off but that's an easy fix.

In the past I was never interested in offset guitars. In electrics, I've always been attracted to 335 style, strat or lp style. But everyone was raving about this guitar so I thought I'd try to order one. Unfortunately, they were sold out. So I put my email on notification. Then Squier had a sale on Bulletts so I bought one of those. Big mistake. The guitar must have completely bypassed QC because the neck was not bolted down, leaving it at almost a 45 degree angle towards the body. No big deal, I thought, I'll just tighten it up and that should handle the problem. Well, it was just the beginning of one thing leading to another (i.e. sharp fret ends, levelling the neck with the bridge, too small frets, etc.). So I sent it back. Finally, the OS30 came back in stock and I ordered one, and it arrived in good condition. So far so good. It needs a setup, but just minor to the way I like a guitar to feel. It's easy to pickup and play and great for practice. Recommended.

Clean. No blemishes or cracks. Setup is good. Knobs work. Won't stay in tune, not sure if this is the strings, the trem, or the tuners. I will put on new strings and see what that does. The trem is quite stiff. Overall I am happy enough. Used it on a couple of recording demos and took it to a gig and my lead player used it on a song. Sounds fine, about what one should expect from a JM copy.

This guitar is a real surprise. Mine came without any blemishes on the body, needed a little setup, but not too much. The back of the neck has a smooth gloss finish, there were no sharp fret edges and the frets were fairly level. Color looks really well done and the tuners hold tune. Amazingly the pickups even sound good. This works well for some old school punk sounds like The Clash, Stranglers or 999. Similar to a Telecaster like guys in those bands used. I don't plan any upgrades, I'm leaving it as is. What a deal!

I have a wall full of "budget" guitars and this is one of the best playing, sounding, constructed and worth the price. What an instrument! The only improvement I made was dress the frets and one of the pots was not very good. Easy adjustments and now one of my favorite guitars and my first Monoprice instrument.

I actually love this guitar. The looks, play-ability and sound are all great so what makes me drop one star? Three things, sharp fret ends. Common problem and not a big deal to correct but they are there. Neck pickup is tilted. True this is mostly aesthetic but not so easily corrected, Lastly only two spring on the tremolo. I don't use the trem so usually I just crank down the spring claw and that gives me a virtual hard tail. Now I need to come up with springs. Those are the reasons for the 4 star rating but as I said right off the bat, I actually love this guitar and play it a lot.

I have played guitar for more than 35 years and cannot believe the quality of this guitar for the price point. It is astonishingly good quality. It rivals some of the $600+ guitars that own currently. Kudos to Monoprice. It actually like it so much that I bought a Cali Classic as well that arrived today.
Fun and stimulating to play. Buy it.

The pickups are great. The action is fantastic. The vintage vibe is right on. The trouble spots are the bridge and sharp fret edges. The bridge tears into your hand at the set screws. The best fix would be to replace the saddles.I have replaced half the set screws with allen bolts as a quick fix. The strings are 009 and nice quality. The setup was great. Frets needed polishing and fret board was dry. It is all worth the venture if you can afford the time and money. These are my favorite p90s.

4 stars because of a couple of very minor body blems. OK, there's the bad. The rest of it: frets are smooth, no polishing needed, a wee bit of saddle lowering and it plays great. The trem works like it should and I love the P90 pickups. I bought this for playing surf music and it's perfect, even on par with a much more expensive 'surf' sounding instrument I own. I got this on sale but even at the regular price it's a deal. Without hesitation...highly recommended!
