For the price the Monoprice 25 watt stereo hybrid tube amplifier is well worth it. It is visually stunning. neon like blue lights illuminate its tubes, power switch, and VU meter readout glass. A high-tech retrofit vibe. I purchased it to connect a bass speaker and I couldn't be more pleased with the sound!

Worth it for the tubes.

Looks good, functions OK as a headphone amp. DAC is very limited and sounds cheap. At the price, it?s still a bargain. Can hardly buy the tubes for that.

Pretty solid amp, for the price - with room for improvement.

I am getting into tube amps but have been an audiophile for quite some time. I was looking for a good 2.1/2.0 setup for my new office and saw this amp was on sale so I jumped on it. I paired it with some B&W 601s2s and is being fed by my PC with a Soundblaster ZxR via SPDIF optical cable. The sound is very warm, too warm, for my tastes, actually. Which says a lot given the neutral/bright sound profile of the B&Ws. I have the treble set to 6 in order to unveil the upper frequencies. I could really use a parametric EQ to get the sound "right", but until then I plan on upgrading the tubes (~$75) and possibly the capacitors (someone on YT did that and said it was much improved). Overall I am happy with the amp, and if those upgrades yield improvements I'll be very happy. Two negatives are the L/R on the headphone jack are backwards. This is fixed by swapping your earphones around, however, most higher end headphones are directional and this would not be possible. Also, the VU meter hardly works at all, maybe a 1mm wiggle every now and then under moderate volume levels. To get it to move more, the amp has to be pushing out near the maximum levels where distortion starts to creep in. I'll update whenever I get those upgrades in place.

Nice little tube amp...with one flaw.

Overall I like this tube amp. It looks great and the sound quality is quite good, especially for the price. It has one annoying flaw -- it produces an audible pop when the source audio starts and stops...sounds like a noise gate of some kind. The pop is quiet, but still annoying...every time audio starts and stops from any source input.

Great deal for the asking price, this warm fuzzy unit enhances and completes my collection of vintage components. It sounds really good coupled with a set of Monoprice towers. Would recommend and buy again.

Nice unit for price but built in phono amp is terrible.

Overall, I?m pleased with this product based on the price point. I?m using this in my medium sized living room for playing records and Bluetooth via iPhone. Playing through pioneer SP-BS22-LR speakers. Turntable is a Dual 510 With a Bellari VP549 phono amp. The built in phono amp In the mono price hybrid amp is not much to be desired (it?s terrible actually) so I?m using the Bellari phono amp and am pretty happy with this setup.

Purchased for streaming music and it does the job. It's nice to have tone controls for those of us find it necessary to adjust the sound to our liking. Have not tried the sub woofer. It's powerful enough for my taste. If you live to drive around in your auto and crave to rattle it apart with basssss from hippie hoppy noise look elsewhere, and please drive elsewhere as well.

Great tube amp with plenty of inputs. I use it as a headphone amplifier. It sounds good. Then I connected a Kenwood pre-amp and the Tube Amplifier came to life. Highly recommend this value priced product that provides the warm and robust sound of vintage stereo and connectivity for all the new gadgets.

I had bought one a couple years ago, all amber color. I guess I didn?t see thes had blue lights on the tubes. Pretty but I?d rather have the amber retro look.

The tube lights, Power halo, and VU meter are BRIGHT blue and the BT LED is amber. The photo shows amber lights which would look MUCH better. The blue looks cheap and toy like. Sound is fine for what it is. Runs a pair of Bose 201's well. VU meter is pretty lazy even at moderate listening volume in a small office setting. Was on sale for New Year so for the price it's fine.

Not a reference amp, but it sounds pretty great even with cheap home theater speakers and a powered sub. The bad: A slight audible click whenever it doesn't detect a source, at least with TOSLINK. This can happen during silence mid-playback. No control over crossover point. Audio static with Netflix app? See pic captions: Dolby Digital isn't supported and must be de-selected in device settings: Sound settings > Device Properties > Additional Device Properties > Supported Formats

2 Units, Both Defective

I originally thought my experience would be great with this fashionable amp, but it's way too big, and both units I received were defective because the back RCA ports produced garbled and loud sound. It was only fine when it was over bluetooth, but that's not my preferred connection to my pc. The first unit I received had all four RCA inputs produce garbled sound and after making a claim the next one I got had two of those RCA inputs be garbled, but the two that worked (although not as loud as it should be) were swapped, meaning the left was right and the right was left. I'm going to be returning my second unit and going with another product I know will work.

Tube amplifier for music

received this for Christmas. I love listening to vinyl but have been doing so through my Home Theater system. 5.1 home theaters are great for movies but I didn't realize what I was missing when listening to music until I hooked up this amplifier. I have 2 powered subwoofers from monoprice (12 Ince, 150 watts). I originally used the low frequency output from this amp but the results were average, when I routed the speaker wires through the high level inputs and then onto the speakers the sound came alive from this 25 watt amplifier. My turntable, 2 subwoofers and 2 speakers and this amplifier combined cost less than $1,000. It sounds amazing. Use your home theater audio system for watching movies, get this amplifier to really enjoy listening to your music.

Vintage look for a vintage office.

I bought this for a home office system for my son. Set up and tried with a couple different sets of bookshelf speakers. I have to say for the price I was astonished by the sound quality. Added a Sub and it got even better. In my sons 100+ year old house it has a nice vintage look. I don?t know what you could buy for the price that would be ant better.

I purchased because I wanted a small amp that would not look like a black block. This is ideal, even with the heavy blue lighting under the tubes (I had read the reviews so it wasn't unexpected). The sound is very mellow with my old Kef speakers, so I guess that's the tube preamp doing its magic. BT connects perfectly, from phone and from a Google Home device, although I've not really stretched the range. Phono works nicely too. I just haven't tried digital in from a TV - if that works out then I'll have a nice alternative to a soundbar that adds a bit more character to the livingroom.
