Overall this product works great with my MacBook Pro and would recommend it. This product would be better if the unit came with a 100W power supply instead of the 72W power supply provided.

Works great HOWEVER you need a very specific generation of cord for full functionality, which monoprice is not clear about in the item description. And Monoprice does not have these specific ones in stock, either. The cords needed are USB-C to USB-C 3.1 GEN 2. GEN 2 seems to be the key factor here.

Seems well-built. Bigger and heavier than I thought so probably not suitable for travel. The biggest problem? It doesn't have enough juice to power and charge a LENOVO laptop with an existing 65w power adapter.

My big problem: The headset port on the front is totally unshielded and has MAJOR interference. Very loud and absolutely constant, so the port is basically unusable. So much for that feature. For some reason you have to connect your laptop to the USB-C port on the FRONT. Why would you do that? Now I have a cable snaking across my desk. The included cable is way too short to reach my laptop, too. There are only two rear USB ports, which is stupidly few for a docking station -- I have to plug it into a hub. What's the point of having this dock, again? I don't have any issues with video or power, but that's the only good thing I can say. It's basically an overpriced oversized display + power adapter.

When my laptop wakes from sleep or is attached to the dock after being off of it for some time, the dock needs to be power cycled and then the host disconnected and reconnected before the monitors work. USB-C is a mess, so maybe it's not the dock's fault; I'd avoid this dock if you have a 2020 MBP. Other reviews don't inspire confidence in the device's longevity, so I'll be RMA'ing this one.

Unfortunately, this is the worst dock I have used. I have 2 other docks that I use regularly (1 less expensive from a no name company and 1 more expensive from a major company) and never have any problems. I was excited to see this one from monoprice and about the ability to add 2 monitors, but when I connect the dock I have to go into the menu to tell it to use the dock as an ac adapter to charge, or it just continues to run down the battery. It frequently disconnects while in the middle of using it and the delay of any usb device plugeed in via the dock makes it hard to use with a mouse or keyboard. I haven''t even tried adding another monitor because it has so much trouble staying connected to 1.

Needed a dual monitor dock for our Lenovo Yoga. Works incredibly well for much less than the factory dock.

I bought this through Google Shopping. I have another brand of dock at the office and wanted another for home. I've had great experiences with Monoprice products, so I was excited to try this out. It straight up does not work. The USB ports work, but monitors and audio don't. When I first plug it in, I can see displays trying to work, but for whatever reason, they don't.

Meh. Somewhat functional. Audio passthrough is flaky, which is one of the main reasons I got this. Video is ok, but the only place this thing actually functions well is as a USB hub. The cover of the provided USB cable easily slides around, making it easy to not fully connect.

My issues are similar to other reviewers. I've had 3 and all 3 work well for some period of time, but eventually stop sending signal to the HDMI and stop charging. When it works, it's perfect. However, it currently feels like <$100 wasted...

I purchased one of these because it was a good value. I'm using with an apple macbook pro (13", 2017 model) and only 1 monitor, a Samsung 4k display. The dock comes with a usb-C cable to connect your laptop to the dock, but it's pretty short. I ordered a longer usb-C cable that was purported to be capable with power delivery, monitor signals, etc. ALSO from monoprice, and it didn't even work with this dock. After that I made do with the included cable. The dock seemed to work fine until recently: suddenly the power delivery from the dock stopped working, which I see mirrored in other reviews as well. Also when waking my laptop from sleep, the system has trouble seeing my 4k monitor. I usually have to mess with system preferences and power the monitor on/off a few times to get the display working. Though, I believe this may not be entirely the dock's fault, because I previously used a 1080 monitor with this dock and laptop and never had that problem. THOUGH that monitor was ALSO a Samsung. As it is for me right now, it's annoying to wake my computer and have to mess around with settings to get my second desktop working, on top of having to use an additional usb-C port for dedicated power delivery to the laptop, which half the point of the dock was that it was supposed to be able to handle that.

I purchased one of these hoping to be able to use it with my HP x360 14 chromebook, but as another reviewer had mentioned, the performance is unreliable at best and downright frustrating at times. I could never get my laptop to output to two monitors simultaneously. I'll offer some leeway that there's an outside chance that it's the fault of the monitors I was using - Samsung S24E450. However, they work fine for other USB adapters that I use whether Displayport or DVI. Also, worth noting that the monitors don't have an HDMI input so it may be due to my need for adapter cables, but the cables work perfectly fine with other USB-C interfaces so it's hard to accept those as root cause. So, I'd say that it's a very well-built device, looks great and has a nice set of interfaces, but without an ability to simply get two external monitors to work with my chromebook, it is of zero use. I guess I'll have to continue to just use multiple adapters unless I find another dock that actually works.

Does what it's supposed to. Connected to 2 monitors (1 via HDMI and 1 DP) plus all of my peripherals.

I frequently come back to my office to find that the device has quit providing power to my mac and will not continue to charge until i remove the power supply for a few seconds and plug it back in. Not reliable.

This dock gives a good first impression. It's metal and feels solidly built. It has every port you could ask for and is a reasonable price. Unfortunately, it's incredibly unreliable. I never know whether both attached monitors will work or if I'll only get one. Sometimes both screens flash to black and then come back a few seconds later. Sometimes the ethernet port doesn't work. Unplugging the power and USB-C cables to the dock inevitably corrects these issues for a while, but I have to do this multiple times per day. I actually have two of these, attached to two different computers (an HP Spectre x2 and a Lenovo ThinkPad E580). Both experience the same symptoms. I've had both docks replaced by Monoprice with no improvement, and have also tried new USB 3.1 10 Gbps cables from a different vendor just in case the cables were the problem (the included cables were too short anyway) - no such luck. If you value your sanity, avoid this product.

This product was set at a great price. Had all the ports I need (would be better if the display outputs were the same, but oh well). The OEM equivalent for my laptop is more than double the price. However.... Components randomly disconnect and reconnect. If sound is on, windows chimes sporadically as monitors come and go. My key board just doesn't work some days until I move it to another USB port. I can tell it's not getting power because the backlight does not even come on. I plugged the USB-C host cable into another port on my PC, and plugged in the OEM power supply directly into the laptop. Have not seen the issue since. I'm unsure if the PSU/power management is faulty or just not powerful enough, but I have narrowed it down to a power issue. Worth noting that my laptop comes with a 65W PSU, and this unit was rated much higher than that.

Works Great.Does exactly what I want it to. Log that it powers as well.I wish the USB-C cord that comes with it was a littler longer. I get shorter is better speed.Frustrated not by this device but by Apple that macOS does not support MST (extend to 2 external displays).Clearly not a hardware thing because dual boot to windows and I can have 3 external extended displays.Still needed to get a TB3 - DisplayPort to have 2 external monitors on Mac.

Failed after several hours. Occasional loss of connection with monitors.

I had been looking for a docking station with the features that this docking station has, and one that works with the HP Spectre x360 13t and charges the device. This one works perfectly! Highly recommended.
