About the Book
Did you ever wonder what your dolls do while you're at school or visiting a friend? The dolls from The Doll's Storybook like to make up stories and then take photos of themselves acting out the stories in a genre they call "Photojournalism of the Imagination." Often they get their ideas from their own reading, but it's more interesting if you take a story everyone knows and use it to make a new story with new ideas.Very young children will need to have someone read these stories to them, and young readers will find help in the text and the photos when they read to themselves. Each one of the five stories is followed by a "Reader's Challenge" to get children thinking or to start a discussion and encourage critical thinking.
The stories included are: "Welcoming a Stranger" inspired by "Goldilocks and the Three Bears"
"The Rescue" inspired by "The Parable of the Good Samaritan"
"Unmasked" inspired by "The Shoemaker and the Elves" and a real life event
"Fuzzy Town--A Play" inspired by Claude Steiner's book "A Warm Fuzzy Tale"
"Sky Blue" inspired by "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" In the back of the book, people who knit and sew will find links to free patterns to make some of the clothes worn by the dolls in the stories.

Review Quotes
"These books are great for kids. I used to teach special needs children. So it was a small class size (usually 10 or so). And the author, a very special friend of mine, was always willing to send a special note to each of my students when I gifted the books to them. My students loved the stories."
"Peggy's imaginative plots and way of posing the dolls in a real environment is impressive, and your doll-lover will thrill to the realism of the photos and stories. "
"They are wonderful stories for children, adults and dolls alike. We are big fans of The Doll's Storybook on Facebook and it is delightful to see it in print. Proceeds go to charity which is awesome! I'll be buying every book that comes along. I hope there are more!"
"I recommend this book for children and families."
About the Author
The Doll's Storybook originated as a weekly story blog for the author's grandchildren in June 2018. The author has worked in various fields as the family relocated due to her husband's job. Her occupations included teaching, social work and magazine writing and editing. The interest in pediatric cancer stems from volunteer work with Therapy Animals of Utah, where she and one of her dogs visited camp Hobé, a summer camp for children impacted by cancer. This led to the decision to donate the royalties from the book to pediatric cancer research and treatment. She is currently retired and living in Bend, Oregon, with her husband and two dogs. Stories from The Doll's Storybook are available as a blog and may be found at http: //thedollsstorybook.blogspot.com. The stories are suitable for all ages, from preschool on up and are prized by grownup collectors of dolls as well.Dimensions (Overall): 10.9 Inches (H) x 8.1 Inches (W) x .3 Inches (D)
