The green tea mochi offers a unique dessert experience with its soft and chewy texture, appealing to those who enjoy matcha flavors. However, many guests have expressed disappointment with the taste, describing it as artificial or reminiscent of pickles. While some find it delicious and refreshing, others recommend exploring other brands for a more authentic matcha experience. Overall, it presents a mixed bag of flavors and textures that may not satisfy every guest.

Other mochi brands do it better

I tried the cookie n’ cream flavor too and this one was a hair better. It has the same issues of the mochi coating being too thin and gummy. The ice cream is soft no matter how long you keep it in the freezer and it quickly melts into a water balloon soon after being taken out. The flavor of the ice cream is bitter like the worst and cheapest matcha. The size of each piece is smaller than other brands that taste much better too. Each piece of mochi from this brand is also coated in a thick layer of cornstarch on the bottom to prevent it from sticking to the package 🤮 Did I mention My Mochi just had a recall on their mango flavor!! If you want good store bought mochi then get the Trader Joes Matcha flavor or anything from the brand Bubbies.

These are truly terrible. I love a good moochi but the rice wrap is thin and the green tea flavor is so subpar and fake tasting. Not a fan.

Wow yummy delicious! All I can say they are the perfect touch of sweetness💚 FYI they do NOT taste like pickles. I literally had pickles right before snacking on these mochis and they definitely taste like green tea 😋! I was ordering more online and saw the comments and had to reassure you guys they don’t taste like pickles.

Tastes like Starbucks’ matcha green tea latte if made right! It’s not supposed to be sweet. I’m Asian and I know ceremonial grade matcha, this is very close. Don’t listen to the pickle white people. Buy it! I ordered 7 boxes to stock up lol

This matcha mochi is sooo good. The mochi texture is soft and chewy, and the matcha ice cream is delicious. It’s a perfect matcha flavor, but probably not for people who are used to overly sweet, milky matcha flavors.

So lots of people say these taste like pickles. I can see why. There's definitely a brief window when you first bite it that has a dill pickle taste. However, this fades pretty quickly, and after the second bite it's gone. I can't explain what's going on, but I get it. Beyond that, there's just not a lot of flavor. I'd much rather have a matcha green tea latte or something to get the real green tea flavor I was hoping these would have. I prefer the other flavors I've tried from this brand, for sure, which is disappointing because I like the less traditional flavors for mochi. Maybe the pickle flavor is like cilantro: some people taste the herb, others soap. Who knows.
