I read this book in a day! I had no plans to do so, but once I got into this book, I couldn't stop myself. This book was amazing. A girl who was a government experiment running away, a women desperate to help her and a FBI agent wanting to capture the girl and pretends to be her friend. I just loved every characters in the book. Each one of you will feel emotionally attached to each character and you will want to know what happens to each of them. The twist and turns makes you want to know what will happen next and each turn will have you gripping on the edge of your seat, because you will never know what will happen next! The ending is amazing. They left you wanting more! I hope there will be a another book explaining what will happens to each character. I have never read Rachelle Dekker before and now I want to read more of her work. Nine will be on the top of my favorite thrillers of 2020! I highly recommend this book, you won't be able to put it down!
Review from Rambles of a SAHM

Whenever I see Rachelle Dekker's name on a book I get excited. You can count on her to turn out a riveting story that will draw the reader in from cover to cover. Nine fit that same description. The genre is suspense but I would go even a step further and classify it as a psychological thriller. The story centers around Zoe and Lucy, two girls, that in normal circumstances, would never be found together. But Zoe has a soft spot for the seemingly naïve and innocent Lucy. That soft spot will lead to all kinds of danger. There's a rogue government agency involved and numerous layers of secrets and deceit to unravel. The buildup to the ending is stressful. But it is absolutely worth it to get to the ending. There is graphic violence so if you're squeamish proceed with caution. But if you are like me and like to have your heart pounding while you are reading I think you are in for a treat with this one. I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.
REPROGRAMMIN THE PAST

“You are Number Nine, the last of your group. And the only one remaining, but you know all that,” Lucy is told in Rachelle Dekker’s novel, Nine. ~ What ~ This three-hundred-and-fifty-two-page paperback targets those who enjoy a suspense about a subversive governmental group creating individuals trained for destruction. With no profanity, topics of physical abuse, torture, murder, and death may not be appropriate for immature readers. The ending includes the first chapter from a prior book, the author’s biography, and advertisements. In this page-turning read sometimes written in first person, twenty-four-year-old Zoe Johnson has hidden her past and dark secrets well until she meets Lucy, a naive teenager whose memory has been erased by the government. As she tries to protect the young woman from those who want to eliminate her, not only does Zoe help teach Lucy about making choices, but that we all are products of our own personal programming. ~ Why ~ This was the type of read that I did not want to put down, even after bedtime. I liked the flow of the characters with the good and evil sides fighting within Lucy. The well-written depth of Lucy and FBI Agent Seeley adds to the focus of how we are programmed by our past yet we can ultimately change our perspective and path. I like that there is a connection to a prior book written by the author and her father. ~ Why Not ~ Those who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus may not have any interest in a book that mentions God and praying to Him. Some who do not care for rogue government-controlled themes and torture may not appreciate the book, but it is engaging and fast-paced. ~ Wish ~ I wish the eternal plan of salvation was clearly stated for an unbeliever reading the book. ~ Want ~ If you like a clean story similar to the movie, Hannah, of a girl who is being programmed one way but questions authority, this is a great read that will make you wonder what you can control from your past in your own life. Thanks to Revell for this complimentary book that I am under no obligation to review.
