Review Quotes
Praise for No Rest for the Wicked
"An original story with a twist like a knife to the gut." -People, One of the Best Books of the Month "Sometimes I launch into a book and find myself thinking 'This is a debut novel? Seriously?' I had that feeling with C.J. Box's Open Season and Attica Locke's Black Water Rising. I am experiencing it once again with Rachel Louise Adams' No Rest for the Wicked... The book impresses on every level-- suspense, characters, plot, twists, milieu and quality of writing." -BookPage (starred review) "Adams writes an assured debut with well-developed characters and nicely timed twists. The small-town setting might suggest a cozy vibe, but the tone and exploration of grimmer themes make this a better match for readers who enjoy the work of Lisa Jewell and Wanda M. Morris." -Library Journal "This is a good choice for readers who enjoy small-town crime with a touch of gothic." -Booklist "A dark, twisty mystery with a cascade of blood splatter, Rachel Louise Adams's debut had me on the edge of my seat until the very end, with twists I never saw coming and characters to die for." -Kelsey Cox, author of Party of Liars "An eerie small-town mystery that builds to a pulse-pounding conclusion." -Olivia Worley, author of So Happy TogetherDimensions (Overall): 9.5 Inches (H) x 6.7 Inches (W) x 1.2 Inches (D)

Fun Halloween read
3 1/2 stars rounded up to 4. A forensic pathologist gets news that her father is missing. She heads back to a town that she left 20 years ago. Her stepmother and step siblings are delighted to see her but a little apprehensive because she only communicated with them on holidays and then it was very limited. There is quite a bit of family drama between two wealthy families in town and hers being one of them. The families stopped having dinners and parties together after something happened but Dolores doesn't really know what that was. It is an intriguing read. I found that her being asked to do the autopsy's on the bodies that keep getting murdered was a little unrealistic but it added to the drama of the story. There are a lot of characters to keep track of but the story reads smoothly and you won't have a problem remembering who belongs with whom. All in all it was a good read with a great twist at the end. Thanks to #netgalley, #minotaurbooks and @rachellouiseadams for an ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

Chilling twists
No Rest for the Wicked was such a twisted, gripping read. I loved how Rachel Louise Adams built a town that oozed Halloween atmosphere and was layered in secrets that made me question everyone. Dolores was a fascinating heroine. Strong, intelligent, and yet clearly haunted by her past. I liked how her forensic background added to the tension while her family’s chilly welcome gave the story an unsettling edge. What really hooked me, though, was how unpredictable it all was. Every time I thought I knew where the story was headed, it swerved in a different direction. It kept me guessing right up until the very end, and I never saw the truth coming. Dark, twisted, and addictive. This debut delivered everything I love in a thriller.

Halloween Suspense!
This book is well written with a handful of strong and many scandalous characters. I wouldn’t say it’s ghostly, eerie or spine-chilling. Yet, it was a head-scratcher – one that leads the reader right into a surprising ending.
