Missing parts

This tree cost quite a bit, but didn't arrive in its original packaging and was missing the base. When I reported it was missing the parts, the only option I was given was to return it. But all other 3' trees were out of stock. So, I went to the manufacturer site and bought the base, which cost me another $17. I was disappointed that it was shipped to me with the key missing parts AND that I had to buy it for so much in order to keep the tree. Other than that, the tree is a good size for my apartment. I did add another string of lights because I wanted more impact. And the original box would have been preferred for post-holiday storage. I should have received notification and a sale price for it being an open box, returned item.
