Book Synopsis

OF TIME AND TIDE (An Alternative View of the Universe) This work is an attempt to explain clearly two aspects of Einstein's Relativity: time and gravity. Further, to consider the mechanics of gravity and the implications to our understanding of this universe. To succeed in understanding time, you and I must first take a brief look into our own psychology and realized that being evolved of this earth our concept of time is formed by the consistency of the earth's movement both daily and annually as well as our psychological disposition that places us in the prime position. With simple logic we show how easy it is to understand what often seems confusing: the relativity of time. We reach an understanding that time is always relative; it is only our psychology and the constancy of our travels through space-time that causes our misconception. We then move on to gravity, talking briefly about that concept's origin. In the Geocentric Universe there was never a question of gravity, the earth was the center of everything, up was up, down was down and everyone knew the difference. It was only as the concept of the Heliocentric Universe began to emerge that the concept of gravity was needed to explain why planets orbited the sun instead of flying off into space. The brilliant Isaac Newton formulated the mathematics for this force called gravity which was logically assumed to be an attraction between masses. The attractive force of gravity was unchallenged until the advent of Albert Einstein and his Theory of Relativity in the early years of the twentieth century. Einstein proposed that planets were actually falling in a straight line through space-time, but that the massive sun curved space-time so the planets orbited around it. What we call gravity in our daily physical activities is actually space-time pushing against the earth. While both concepts are taught, Newton's pull theory of gravity still dominates scientific thinking and theories. We point out experiments

About the Author

Photo: Malleus Maleficarum, Jr. 1948, Lake Withalottahooie City Municipal Park, FL. A proud native son of Florida I was borned Friday March 13th 1942 in the little town of Lake Withalottahooie, FL where I spent my childhood. My earliest memories are around the lake fishin' and giggin' frogs. I attended our little local school where I excelled in sports, lettered in gator rasslin', possum huntin' and fishin' and did good with the learnin' graduatin' from 8th grade at age seventeen in the top half of my class placing third out of the five of us. Not being no local work and to pursue my career as a fisherman I join the Navy. They put me to cooking on a submarine where you are surrounded by water, but you can't fish. Who knew? I use to hear the nukes in the mess hall takin' about neutrons and stuff; maybe some hit me or something. Anyway I signed papers when they give 'em to me and what not and so forth and 20 years later they sent me back to Withalottahooie and I get a check ever month. Three years ago I met and married the love of my life and we still live happily here in Lake Withalottahooie with our thirteen kids and six hounds. They was all a big help to me with words and ideas and stuff for this book.
