These tortillas might as well be tissue paper. Why the heck would you give flour tortillas. Falls apart worse than public bathroom toilet paper. Idiotic.

The kit has everything you need except meat, cheese, and whatever topping you like. Great rich flavor. I’ll be keeping on of these kits in my pantry. I paid a lot more for some Birria seasoning on line. This one’s a winner.

The kit makes it super easy to put together tacos that taste like they took way more effort than they actually did. I did add some extra toppings including onions, cilantro, and a little bit of lime. The consommé was awesome, perfect for dipping. It’s not exactly like the Birria tacos you’d get at a food truck, but for a quick and easy at-home version, it’s delicious and super satisfying . Definitely something I’d grab again for taco night!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Old El Paso Birria Taco kit is delicious. I didn't have chuck beef so I used ground beef and it was still very good. It has a little kick, but not too spicy. It was the right amount for my family. Just enough. I will be buying this again.

This product caught my eye in the store and my son (20yo who loves to cook and eat!) wanted to try it. Everything was in the box except the 2.9# chuck roast we bought. He is very rigid and, while I would have automatically added more seasonings, he wanted to try the OG pkts. Cutting the meat up, placing it in the dutch oven (we used the regular oven to cook), mixing up the seasoning pkt w water and pouring it over the meat- Simple. After cooking for 3.5 hrs or so, the meat was AMAZINGLY tender, easily fork shredded w a very mild taste. The birria consumme though- for me the most flavourful part- was rather bland. just lacking in flavour. My son amped it up a bit w bay leaf, cilantro lime seasoning and a bit of msg but it needs a little 'umph'. When we do this again, we'll add beef broth rather than water, throw the bayleaf in to cook w the beef and probably some chopped fresh cilantro, onion powder/minced onion, garlic powder and a bit of red pepper flake. Box mixes are great but you always have to add a lit something to them!

They are good and a great substitute when you don’t want to make homemade birria tacos. Just needed to add a little more seasoning which I had on hand already. They went so fast didn’t have a chance to take a pic of my finshed tacos.

He dumped both seasoning packets in with the burger and didnt realize there was a broth to dip the tortilla shells in and then place in the skillet. 🤔🙄😅 Anyways, it still tasted amazing! I will be repurchasing and giving it a proper try the way it was intended and will be updating. But I would still highly recommend as it was!

I slow cooked the beef for about 11 hours on low in the Crockpot, and thanks to the included sauce and seasoning packet, the flavor turned out to die for. The meat was tender, juicy, and packed with bold, authentic flavor like something you'd get from a restaurant. The tortillas were soft and fresh, and the entire kit made taco night incredibly easy. The Old El Paso Birria Taco Kit is packaged like all their other kits... most is recyclable ♻️, and a little is not. Now I'm going to be honest and say I've never had Birria, and have wanted to try it since I stopped eating meat... go figure. So, I can't speak to the authenticity of the taste/flavor. However, all the ingredients were fresh and the instructions were clear for meat eaters. So, I used Beyond Steak but wanted the softer meat texture that I've heard and seen Birria have. I mixed my two bags in a oven safe dish sprayed with nonstick cooking spray, according to the instructions. I preheat my oven to 325, covered it and baked it for 35 minutes. When I checked it, it wasn't hot enough and very liquid. So, I increased the temp to 375, still covered. Baked for another 20 mins, then uncovered and baked for another 10. My family LOVED it! I thought it was a teeny bit spicy, but still very good. We'll certainly buy it again.

The instructions were pretty simple to follow along with but did require a lil work. I was able to make a bout 10 nice size taco that was bursting with flavor u may need to add some more spicy if u like spicy. Although they were good I probably won’t buy them again. I want quick meals in a box.

I’ve had homemade in the past so this isn’t exactly the same profile but it works. Added some sour cream as extra. Chipotle sauce was a nice touch to the consommé. Don’t overdue the tortilla in sauce or it will be soggy
