I have been playing for 3+ years at about a 4.0 level. I just purchased my third Summit Outbreak paddle. I tried an elongated paddle of another brand and didn't like it. The short handle is perfect for my grip and I'll gladly exchange the extra sq inches for paddle face. Good combo of control and power. Please don't ever stop making this or at least have a short handle elongated paddle available in the repertoire.

This is my second onyx paddle that I just love it is everything they claim it to be a lot more control from the sound from the flex to the field to the vibration of the grip. I love the short handle I'm able to reach most Pickleball is that no one else can can't say enough love it.

I won this paddle at a Wounded Warrior event about 2 years ago. Since then I've only had to replace the grip tape once. Love the touch and spin I'm able to put on balls and when those shallow lobs come in, I get to drop the hammer something fierce. The only complaint I have is that not enough players use elongated paddles. Automatically people think I'm using a non USAPA cheater paddle.

I love this paddle. I grab my paddle like a ping pong paddle and I was looking for a paddle that was designed with a player like me in mind. I love that the handle is shorter which provides more control. At the same time they elongated the face of the paddle giving me more room to strike the ball being that I grab my paddle up so high. They did kept it within the standards by also making the face a little thinner so it has the same square footage as other paddles.

More POP than the original Summit with same length and shape! This is my third Summit and the new improvements to the Outbreak make this one my favorite so far. The surface has more grip for spins and the handle is a wee bit thicker for my long fingers. Like it was tailor made for me :)

Most people see my paddle and think it is oversized. In truth it is about 1/2 inch longer than most paddles that I compare it to. The handle is short, which allows the playing surface to be enlongated.. I believe this paddle is a nice inbetween for power and control.l

Racquet - face is awesome. Different than the Z obviously. If I could change or add anything is the handle. I would offer a thinner Handel style 2. The feel would be more flexible while swinging the paddle. I shared the racquet with a few players because they liked the elongated style. We are advanced players and they had a thinner grip on their paddles. I also have a Wilson elongated which is longer with a sleeker Handel. Feel is different.

I get more stability with shorter grip resulting in no wrist pain. I also experience fewer mishits on lower part of paddle.
Excellent Paddle!

Added control, love the reach and sweet spot, I thought I would loose some square footage with less width but not at all. Short handle better control.
Glad they added this to the lineup.

First, I'm an extended silhouette fan...Omni, GH7L,Players RogueESI, Needle, et al. I can add the Summit Outbreak to that list! After a couple of my regular Pball folks tried the original Outbreak, I lamented the lack of an extended silhouette with that same construction...but I lament no more!! A couple of obvious points to speak about first. The handle is really really SHORT ! It's very reminiscent of the Omni and GH7L handles, maybe even feeling a bit shorter. From 35 years of tennis, I let my pinky almost fall off the bottom of the handle with the end of the handle mid-way into the heel of my hand. This is a good thing as I have XL sized hands and there is really no other option with the Summit Outbreak handle. Second is the handle shape...not unlike other paddles with the "new" thicker cross-sections, the handle is quite square. I altered the shape a bit when wrapping an overgrip to increase the size to my preferred 4 5/8". IF you are accustomed to an oval shape to your handles, this could take a little getting used to.(Not unlike the AMPED series from Selkirk). I do like the legit tennis-style butt cap that appears to be solidly attached. Nice quality grip; but as I mentioned, I overwrap mine to increase the size. The play of the paddle was about what I expected...and that's a good thing. Like some other 'thicker' paddles, it damps impact very nicely. What I was looking for in particular was the spimability of the high-tech face combined with the thicker core. While I don't think it's going to push the limits of the USAPA regulations, I do find I can spin the ball as much with this paddle as any I've used. It actually seems to "pocket" the ball just a touch, allowing for an instant longer dwell time. The response from the extended face is pretty consistent from top to bottom, side to side. No "hot spots" that I could find, the rebound is quite consistent all over the face. I'm honestly not crazy about the very shiny edge-guard...looks cheaper than I would expect for this price point(and I've gotten used to edge-guards being more of a matte finsih, almost rubbery). That's not a big thing for me as I add lead tape to the sides and cover the lead tape with some sort of color-appropriate finish tape. I found the paddle returns the energy put into my shots, not too 'poppy' and not too damped power-wise. I have plenty of power and this paddle responds as I hoped. It's not quite a "full length" paddle, coming up ~ 1/2" shorter than the max length. This is balanced by the "extra" 1/2" of width compared to true "blade style" paddles...a very nice compromise and gives a confidence-inspiring appearance rather than a really skinny one! I made sure to use a brand new indoor ball for my first session with this paddle and the experience was very satisfying. It will be interesting to see how it performs with a more 'broken in'(read dead) ball. It may be a touch(!) less powerful and more control-centric with a less lively ball. Not a bad thing at all.
